A truth that fits all ages — most people never question the basic nature of reality as provided by their society. They take it for absolute and self-evident, and live their lives accordingly.

Our empathy depends on our ideological beliefs, therefore it is highly selective. One person may rejoice in another's suffering, another offering sympathy, while yet another feeling absolute apathy. Our empathy is incumbent on our worldview and our place in the world.

or do. im so fucking torn. i wish this was forever. i need these people. they are like. im one of them. i truly belonged. i felt it. i didn't feel like just cannon fodder yk?? i felt like. equal to everyone. i wasnt just there to fill a seat. they liked me. they cared enough to defend me. ive felt so alone and its felt like ive had to fight like hell alone. its been my burden my war. but just. for a moment. i wasnt alone. i really wasnt. this is gonna change me oh god

When someone treats you like you’re just one of many options, help them narrow their choice by removing yourself from the equation. Sometimes you have to try not to care, no matter how much you do..Because sometimes you can mean almost nothing to someone who means so much to you.. If they can’t prioritize you, if they can’t show you how important you are to them, if they struggle choosing you, if they treat you like an option when you should be the one and only, if they can’t see what’s in front of them..then Let it go, walk away. Sometimes the only choice left is to leave and hope that in your absence they care enough- to notice and do something about it. Hopefully they care enough to change the situation and show you with actions the importance of you in their life. But if they can’t, if they won’t..there’s your answer. No forcing.
