It just occured to me that there were no female test subject in the Kontinue Project. The only woman confirmed to be experimented on is Bryony, and those experiments were conducted by a completely different corporation. Also it's worth mentioning that she was violently forced into participation even though she was the lead scientist, whereas the Kontinue Project test subjects were recruited with an emphasis on voluntary participation (we all know that's also bullshit, but like they did technically agree to this).
I just feel like Red Valley is too good with their social commentary for this to actually be a coincidence. Because we've been explicitly shown different instances of women being treated poorly in corporate and scientific spheres throughout the series and I really want to appreciate the subtle details that don't catch the eye right away. Like, it's horrible and I hate that it exists at all, but in terms of writing? It's brilliant. Or at least I really want it to be. I mean, I'm a notorious Red Valley glazer and I take no shame in it, the show is one of the greatest pieces of media I've ever encountered.
All that is to say... I'm genuinely surprised we've been shown that cryonic preservation has seemingly no side-effects specific to women so far. Like, their test pool was shiiiit.
I find it funny that everyone just ignores the fact that Gordon is canonically white
listening to an audiobook for my thesis and the author-narrator sounds eerily similar to gordon porlock. if i squint my ears i’m basically studying his journey into the cryonic void
