the other day, at a disability meet up, someone said something about the handles on my communication device being for children. I did not really know what to say, as I was overwhelmed as is, I did not understand, and I thought I did not hear everything that was said. however, someone spoke up for me by saying that I am not a baby and to not put me down, so to speak. they also explained that the handles can help those with motor challenges. I expressed my gratitude and had a great time with them after! I wonder if the person who helped me also saw or heard that the other person just gave an awkward laugh when I tried to say something with my communication device before.
