-The only girl of the five

-Loves dolls and puppies

-The oldest and hotheaded one of the five

-They are adopted

Butter: Glamour Girl

“We all know a Glamour Girl. Not necessarily a girl, it could be anyone, but someone who has the mindset of valuing material things over other people.” These are the words Portland based pop band Butter use to describe their newest release. Chorus lines like “You’re just a Glamour Girl/You’ve got no place in the real world/and with your money you buy friends,/Five star meals and new men” ring true in a society where so-called glamour girls may forget that they should have a personality and where money is often valued over character. The jist: it’s easy to connect with this song about millennial-esque problems while putting on your dancing shoes.

A band full of groovy guitar licks and a rhythm section that knows how to make you move, Butter is your newest summer obsession. If it were possible to combine the dance music of the 1980′s and the underground music scene of today, this would be it. The trio is comprised of vocalist and guitarist Aaron Schmidt, bassist Thomas Shipley, and drummer Jarrett Tracy.

“Glamour Girl” is the 2nd track of Butter’s self-released, self-titled debut EP due later this year. Catch their single release show on July 21st at The Secret Society with Shannon Entropy and Moon Ensembles.
