It's Alice, I really don't care who answers. I have two problems. One, I got a potential gig for some nude/lingerie/bikini modeling and I have no idea how I'd break it to my dad or overprotective aunt, especially cause my dad would be my ride. Second, they have me looking for a job from 9-5 and treating it like I'm in an office every single day and I really really can't handle that. Soon enough I'm going to crack and I don't know how to tell them about it, cause I know they won't listen. Help?
Hello Alice, Abaddon here.
If modeling is what you wan to do with your life, I say you go for it. your father and aunt should be supportive of whatever you do, even if it’s not his taste (as long as it doesn’t hurt you). If you do decide to go through with it and tell them, just explain that this is what you want to do and why you want to. Hopefully if they see why you want this they will be at least a little more flexible.
They might be your family, but you should have the option to make your own decisions. Can you explain to them that a 9-5 job isn’t what you are looking for? Parents tend to want a carbon-copy child, and I understand the pressure that can be created by that.
Just try talking to them if you can. They might not listen, but then at least you made the effort and you can come up with another plan. Be patient and explain as much as you can, try to make them see your point.
I believe in you sweetheart,
