Ordinary
Yes I was abandoned. No, I'm not an orphan. No, I don't live in a third world country. No, I'm not a criminal or a problem child or an emotional wreck. I'm an ordinary person. I was just presented with an obstacle. Everyone has their demons. For some it's alcoholism, obesity, self-esteem, mental disorders, or addiction. I'm no different. My obstacle was abandonment. But I am not defined by it. I am me.
Thoughts
Remembering a bad past will get you nowhere. But overcoming the past. Sharing the past. That is real strength. That will get you anywhere.
Remember this Sunday to do what God constantly reminds us to do: forgive and forget. In order to function happily we must first put the past away and focus on our journey.

The mage seemed pensive; a different shade than her usual demeanor. Red eyes gazed at a solitary point, unwavering and unblinking. Yet, they saw nothing ahead. It was rather short-lived. Movement from her peripherals pulled her from her reverie. With a blink, she straightened her uniform, inwardly chagrined for being so absorbed.
"Ah--sorry if you've been waiting long. I'm Rem," the brunette introduced herself, a smile slowly resurfacing. "May I help you all?"
