Haley and Abigail are both brats who never matured past middle school. Being asked to help around the household is not a threat to someone's person and yet these two act like they've been asked to lift Mount Everest. Whining about cleaning cushions and cooking? Seriously? They need to get over it.

I honesty entered the fandom being okay with Abigail but not liking Haley because of her attitude. But now it’s like they’ve swapped places.
Like yeah Haley is still kinda rude to us when we first meet and she has some problems with responsibility, but I could actually grow to like her once we become friends. Abigail seems more like that one girl that tries way too hard to be rebellious and punk but she just winds up behaving like a contrarian.
Not to mention she’s also kinda rude when we first meet her, she’s just more passive aggressive about it, saying “it’s a shame (we moved onto grandpa’s old farm) because she’ll miss wandering around the overgrown fields.” especially if you wind up dating or marrying Sebastian.
And on top of that, she acts like it’s such an insult to her as a woman to be asked to help her mother make dinner. Like cooking isn’t a basic lifeskill everything should have and if you’re gonna be living with your parents at that grown age, you should at least help out around the house and not be a leech.
Finally, she complains about her life but also does nothing to actually change it and doesn’t even go to the mines with you if you invite her. I’ll say it, she’s a coward.

Abigail needs to get the hell over herself. Doing some chores and cooking every once in a while is not gonna kill her, especially since she claims she's studying but instead either plays video games all day or slacks off doing literally anything else. Girl, you are an adult. Start fucking acting like it.

It annoys me when people assume Abigail is a lesbian. It perpetuates the stereotype that all lesbians don’t take care of their appearance.

If Abigail wants to go adventuring so badly, why won't she just... do it? She's supposedly a full-grown adult, she can make her own choices even if they are reckless and stupid. But nope, she just stagnates unless she gets married. Ugh.

The people obsessed with Sebastian have got to stop treating Abigail like she's some sort of pick-me or I swear I'm gonna throw something into a wall. I don't like her much either but that's because she comes off as an insecure brat to me with how much she yells at her parents and acts like people judge her for being different when they don't. If someone's gonna hate a character, it should be for reasons with actual evidence, not over some stupid high-school-esque "she likes the guy I like so I'm gonna bully her" drama.

Sam’s a (swear word) and Abigail & Sebastian should’ve ended that friendship a long time ago.
Why people still ship him with Penny is insane to me, especially since Penny is a soup connoisseur. Sam RUINED her community soup. No wonder they don’t interact. We don’t know what he put in there. Rat poison? It’s possible.
I'm sick and tired of people saying the Sam x Penny ship is canon because "Sam’s changed" like that matters at this point. Just because a Super-Sonic-looking manchild is best friends with two Blaze-and-Shadow-looking emo brats, does not mean Penny likes him in a romantic way because he’s a “cool musician.” It pisses me off so much when people ship Penny, the princess of the redhead witch’s coven (Penny/Leah/Robin/Jodi) in attractive wife/incompetent husband relationships because only one of them is canonically most likely to laugh while watching Friends unironically. It's one of the dumbest SDV ships I've ever had to deal with, and it makes my blood boil everytime people ship them together as if they're the next Robmetrius. They could NEVER. Penbastian >>>> Pensam.
And one more thing on that matter. Penny deserves better. If I found a girl cuddling up my man like Abigail tries to do with Sebastian every night in his basement all for “band rehearsal,” I’d be upset, too! You ain’t slick, Abby (Lee Miller). Like do that with a man YOU find, NOT mine. You ain’t the only who’s been through sh!t, Abigail. 😒

Elliott and Leah are the only halfway decent romanceables in the entire game.
Emily's genuinely insane, Haley's a peaked-in-high-school mean girl, Abigail is a wannabe hero brat, Alex also peaked in high school and is too arrogant to notice, Sebastian is always playing victim, and Shane, ugh, I could write a whole essay on Shane, but let's just start with the alcoholism, the rudeness, the poor hygiene, and the general "I'm gonna make everyone else as miserable as I am" attitude.
The rest are either just plain boring or the prospect of dating them gives me the ick. (Looking at you, Harvey.)
