Sam the Hypocrite
Did people forget that Sam withheld information about his visions from Dean until the ep of ep 5. He only told Dean after Dean found out from Lilith. Dean even says, "You're just telling me this now." Then Sam goes on that he thought it was PTSD. Really Sam? You get shot with a God gun but those sudden visions are PTSD. I thought he was supposed to be the smart one. Why is Sam getting all pearl clutchy at the though of Jack sacrificing himself. As if he hasn't been on board with using Jack as a weapon against God since Jack first came back. Jack was eating people's hearts for Chuck's sake to get strong enough. No one objected. Sam even says that Jack is in his room because of 'Everything he has to do" No one objected that Jack's destiny was to kill God. We even had a scene of Cas bragging to Dean about how happy he that Jack is going to fulfil his destiny. Did Sam and Cas really just believe that Jack would wave his hand and flash his glowy eyes and God would go gently into that good night with no muss and no fuss? They've ALL been down this road before, (in fact s11, which had the exact same plot and Cas and Sam were both find with Dean carrying the soul bomb becaue they knew what was at stake). Again isn't Sam supposed to be the smart one? Why is it when Dean is lied too, he a dick for being angry but every other character is justified in their reactions and cheered on. People justify why keeping secrets from is okay. Same with the the other side of the coin. If Dean lies, his reasons are never good enough. Were as everyone's reasons are perfectly okay. Dean really can't win in the fandom or with the writers. I also feel like this whole need to keep Jack on a pedestal the writers have lost sight of the larger issue. Jack's sacrifice is going to save 6 billion people. (Jack also ceases to exist if Chuck destroys the planet. ). Chuck has destroyed every other world except ours and Sam and Dean knew that this was happening, yet they still showed no sensen of urgency, because Chief "I only care about things when they affect me' didn't seem to have an desire to "find another way' He was perfectly content to wait for Jack to be ready. So you still keep secrets and lie Sam and don't come clean until your forced. At least Dean told you of his own free will and why aren't you mad at Cas for keeping this info from you. He lied too. If Cas knew Dean wouln't tell Sam then why didn't he go to Sam directly? It's almost like this episode deliberatley set Dean up to fail. In short, Sam is a hypocrite, whose also apparently lost all common sense because becuase he knows how these things go and was pefectly okay with using Jack for his own purposes, or are people forgetting that Sam was only nice to Jack in the beginning because he saw him as a way to rescue Mary, and continues to play both sides of the fence to he can avoid taking responsibility and keep himself in the 'good guy' role by making Dean the bad guy. Get off that high horse Sam and stop acting like you weren't okay with the plan all along.
i made a post about it before but i’m still v interested in how cycles of abuse play out in supernatural. we have john, who very much loved but unquestionably abused sam and dean growing up. the neglect and emotional abuse are obvious, but physical abuse is more up to interpretation. it’s also pretty clear that sam was often the scapegoat and got hit the hardest with that abuse, and dean fell into more of a mediator role, always trying to keep the peace but ultimately siding with john against sam and really internalizing john’s ideas. it takes dean a lot longer to get angry with john and realize that they were abused by him.
once john dies the roles start to shift. by season 4, we’ve hit a point where dean is pretty clearly abusing sam. we’ve gone from john saying dean might have to kill sam to dean saying he’d rather let sam die than let him drink demon blood. dean is also very good at covering up his abuse with the love he has for sam, framing everything he does as taking care of him. the abuse continues, and sam slowly internalizes it in a similar way that dean did with john’s abuse. sam oscillates between defending himself against dean and forgiving and defending dean. i think season 9 is the last time we really see him take a hard stance against dean’s abuse.
while i wouldn’t say dean stops abusing sam, his abuse becomes more focuses on castiel and jack in later seasons, in part because sam becomes more accepting of dean’s actions (in a similar way to how john also abused dean but sam got the more overt hostility bc dean fell in line with what john wanted). sam initially stands up to dean about his abuse of jack, long after sam has stopped really standing up for himself. but we do see sam take on a very similar role to the one dean had growing up. he tries to play mediator, but often aligns himself with dean, apologizing for but excusing dean’s behavior. the same way dean initially rejected john’s saying he might have to kill sam, sam rejects dean’s threats of killing jack. however, when he decides jack has gone too far, he goes along with dean’s plan to trap jack since they can’t kill him, the same way dean was willing to let sam die (by trapping him in a warded metal container!!!!) when he decided sam had gone too far. (granted, jack killed mary and sam was just drinking demon blood not killing anyone, but the comparison still stands).
like i love sam very dearly and i’m not often critical of him, but he very much sides with dean a lot of the time and makes excuses for him. and it’s understandable given the sheer amount of abuse and trauma he’s experienced that he would internalize and accept that shit so that he could cope. plus they do truly love each other and are so isolated from other people much of the time that rejecting dean would be extremely painful, and when you’re busy trying to survive it makes sense to not want to throw away one of the only relationships you have. idk what my point is but i am curious what the process of unlearning everything he’s internalized from john and dean (and all his other trauma) would look like and how he would avoid making the same journey from mediator to abuser that dean did.
Some of the characters feel like they’re just written as teenagers but labeled as adults and it icks me out so hard. Mostly Alex, Haley, & Sam, but a couple of the others too. There’s several reasons why I feel this way but the funniest one that pisses me off is Sam sneaking the farmer into his window and lying to jodi about it all. Like either come to the farm or let me in the door if we are actually adults here
.
Let me be so real for a second. All of the male bachelors are ugly. Shane looks like Ben Shapiro and the rest look like future pedophiles. So I 100% understand wanting to fuck Krobus. He’s unironically more attractive, both in terms of looks and in terms of personality. Go get that shadow monster dick. Human men ain’t shit.
.
i hate that little blonde bitch (not haley the other one)
.
uhhhh how old is sam anyway? he drops an egg in the kitchen and it’s up to the farmer to sort the ordeal out, freaks out when his mom almost catches him and the farmer in his room and stuffs them under the covers and he plays his own instrument constantly. am I dating a grown man or a ninja turtle who has to be home before supper time? If he can’t even take accountability over an egg, who knows what’ll happen later down the line? what if Jodi dropped dead and Vincent’s appendix burst and his dad had an episode? would the farmer have to handle that too?

Sam’s a (swear word) and Abigail & Sebastian should’ve ended that friendship a long time ago.
Why people still ship him with Penny is insane to me, especially since Penny is a soup connoisseur. Sam RUINED her community soup. No wonder they don’t interact. We don’t know what he put in there. Rat poison? It’s possible.
I'm sick and tired of people saying the Sam x Penny ship is canon because "Sam’s changed" like that matters at this point. Just because a Super-Sonic-looking manchild is best friends with two Blaze-and-Shadow-looking emo brats, does not mean Penny likes him in a romantic way because he’s a “cool musician.” It pisses me off so much when people ship Penny, the princess of the redhead witch’s coven (Penny/Leah/Robin/Jodi) in attractive wife/incompetent husband relationships because only one of them is canonically most likely to laugh while watching Friends unironically. It's one of the dumbest SDV ships I've ever had to deal with, and it makes my blood boil everytime people ship them together as if they're the next Robmetrius. They could NEVER. Penbastian >>>> Pensam.
And one more thing on that matter. Penny deserves better. If I found a girl cuddling up my man like Abigail tries to do with Sebastian every night in his basement all for “band rehearsal,” I’d be upset, too! You ain’t slick, Abby (Lee Miller). Like do that with a man YOU find, NOT mine. You ain’t the only who’s been through sh!t, Abigail. 😒
