Stop telling disabled people they're not allowed to exist in public. I'm so fucking done with this being brought up in spaces that are supposed to be "safe."
I'm looking at you age regression community.
The amount of fucking times I've had to have the same conversations with ignorant ableists about minding their fucking business about how others cope without hurting a single fucking soul is appalling.
You are only hurting your own community, plus disabled people every time you claim people can't bring any gear outside.
I don't give a flying fuck if people are uncomfortable seeing that person in the emerge holding onto their dear stuffed friend. Mind your damn business. I don't care if you're uncomfortable seeing a sliver of someone's diaper for a single second as their shirt lifts up as they play basketball. Mind. Your. Damn. Business. I DON'T CARE if you're closed minded ignorant ass can't fathom seeing someone with a pacifier in their mouth at the mall. Mind your mother fuckin DAMN BUSINESS.
You have NO idea why someone might have certain gear out in public. And telling them to leave it behind closed doors is ableist no matter how you fucking twist it.
Get your head out of your ass and see beyond your own fucking nose. You aren't the center of the universe. You entitled privileged fuck. Fight me and my crippled disabled ass.
Jayme Lawson Dropped the FINAL CORRECT OPINION on the N-Word Debacle at the BAFTAS at the NAACP AWARDS...
People who downplay pre-augmentation Julian's disabilities actually really annoy me.
What his dad did wasn't wrong because he "could have had a perfectly normal life!" (highly unlikely given what Julian describes)
What his dad did was wrong because it was a violation of his bodily autonomy
What he did was wrong because it condemned Julian to having to hide what he is because he is now an illegal entity and he had no say in this
Regardless of what life could have been like for "Jules" what his dad had done to him was wrong and it is not less wrong for Julian having been severely disabled
Fred Trump III writes that his uncle, Donald Trump, made the shocking suggestion during an Oval Office meeting in May 2020
Can everybody who uses the argument “well you wouldn’t tell a physically disabled person to just try harder so don’t say it to neurodivergent people!” just shut the fuck up?
Physically disabled ppl hear that shit a fucking lot. Don’t fucking speak on topics/experiences you don’t know shit about
Anyone who gets rid of a characters canonical disability / chronic pain will start to cough in three days
Perhaps it's having chronic pain that's granted me the ability to speak Ashton-ese, but the way people straight up just miss this character completely is baffling to me. Sometimes I see the WILD misinterpretations of the character online and I'm like... Is THIS why people don't know what the fuck is happening ever with their disabled friends and loved ones? lol I'm better at talking than Ashton for sure, but the character is an open book to me. It's like a magic trick that Taliesin has pulled off with that character honestly, the way people either see them or don't.
(Even the other members of the cast occasionally as C3 went by, where someone on 4 sided dive would ask Taliesin if Ashton was thinking or feeling; x, y, or z completely out of left field thing, then Taliesin would respond with, no Ashton is thinking & feeling; insert pretty much exactly what I thought Ashton was thinking & feeling lol.)
I'm not talking about liking or disliking the character, personal taste is personal. I'm talking about the kind of shit where I'm genuinely wondering if we're watching the same show. I know punk is inherently counter cultural and therefore a certain percentage of people are by it's very nature going to be put off by it. That combined with a character who has poor verbal communication skills and is more action based is a recipe for misunderstanding. The subtlety of the character is delicious. Taliesin Jaffe, nobody's doing it like you.
