Suitor: Hawks/ Keigo Tamaki

The public fallout didn’t endear the HPSC to allowing Katsumi to be out of the penthouse. The media were letting people get swept up in the fear that she would make them all be her slaves by the end of the week. Even though she was never seen by anyone but Hawks as he flew in to the weekly update by the Commission. The summer weather was in full swing, and Katsumi could only go out on the balcony with Keigo of an evening. He knew that she wanted to be able to go out on the balcony without him being home, though that was still not allowed as he landed in front of the concrete building. The atmosphere was stifling inside, as he got a notification that the air conditioning was being increased beyond its normal means. A precursor to her heat probably as he knocked on the boss’ door before opening it with a carefree grin.
The stern lady gestured for him to take a seat, and the expression she had on her face didn’t bode well for him, he feared. She was on the phone and pinching the bridge of her nose as the other end ranted and raved at a tone even Keigo couldn’t work out.
“And I’m telling you that your scaremongering is counter intuitive to the HPSC’s approach to Mentala. If you continue to work up the public and other reporters, then we will take action.”
She cut the call off and tossed the phone onto her desk, before turning her glare onto Hawks.
“You wanted to see me?” He grinned, trying to keep the fake persona up.
“The media is focused on the bad your mate did. We’ve worked out the centre of it, but right now because no one sees her then there’s no way of ensuring that people understand that she is on our side. You’re to employ her at your agency. She’ll work the same shifts you do, and we’ll give her the licence and a new Hero name,” she explained. “You’ll have to schedule days off around her heat, but she needs to prove to the public that she’s working on the behalf of the Commission.”
“I’ll get her started as a secretary once her heat is done,” Hawks nodded in agreement, pulling up the camera feed to his apartment as he realised that she was currently lounged out on the sofa and fidgeting in a manner that indicated that nothing was holding her interest. Plus, she was already down to the basics of clothing, though she was refusing to admit she needed to get into the nest and prepare for another heat.
“They’re turning into a monthly problem.”
“The stress of my job could bring them on. It should settle once she’s got her own job and isn’t just stuck in the penthouse waiting for me,” Hawks shrugged and tilted his head. “I’ll email my people and get them to set her up for an account. She’ll start off with the basics, but she’ll only work with me on patrols. Maybe some good publicity and seeing her use her powers to quell the bad guys could help her.”
He was swiftly dismissed. As was the way with the Commission. You had to be there when they wanted you and then discarded as soon as you stopped being useful in that moment. The wind home was getting warmer as he felt the sun on his wings. He was more surprised that the League of Villains hadn’t made an attempt yet to retrieve their puppet master as he began to think over the name given to her by the media. She recoiled every time it was said, which meant that it had to go. He landed on the balcony loudly, though the reaction was muted from his mate who was sprawled out on the sofa with the cutest grumpy expression on her face to display her discomfort.
“Honey, I’m home,” he joked after opening the door. The cold air made him shiver, and her glare only intensified as Keigo kept the extra layers of clothing on and closed the door behind him. “What’s up, Chickadee? You look like you’re in heat but refusing to admit it. You don’t run the AC this low normally otherwise.”
“I am not in heat. I had one last month, I shouldn’t have one this month!” She grouched, ignoring that Keigo was clearing the fridge out of water to move it to the mini one installed in her nest room.
“Yeah, the Commission are keeping track of your cycle as well,” he humoured her, pausing in his passing to scent her up before heading to check the exterior of her nest for supplies and restocking them on protein bars and candy. “They think that having you working for me as a sidekick will regulate your cycle to every other month because you won’t be stuck in here and worried about me. Since you’ll be right next to me or doing paperwork inside the building. And I’m adding ‘doing the boss’ to your list,” he winked at her and laughed as he grabbed a box of candy bars and then scooped her up in the other arm. “Your nest room is an ice box, and you’ve got those cooling pads laid out too, so you’ll be best off in there!” He explained before she could complain about his motions.
Keigo couldn’t pretend that he wasn’t worried about Katsumi as she curled up on one of her cooling pads next to him in the nest. She would sleep when she could during a heat, but it wasn’t very common to hear of a monthly heat as he began to wonder who they had taken the quirk from before giving it to her, and how much had been altered. There were some animals that did go through monthly ones until they were spayed as he stroked her hair out of her face. Maybe they would need to experiment more with some hormone medication as he checked his emails to see that her accounts at his workplace had been set up and ready to go. A smile came to his face at the thought of not needing to worry about leaving her behind every day. His Alpha was keen to show off his mate, as he rested his head on a pillow and stroked her cheek. She looked cute as a button in his eyes, and he was sure that she’d kill everyone with kindness once she could show it to the public.
Katsumi was the epitome of professional for her first day. Black formal trousers, a pair of patent mid-sized heels, a red coloured blouse, basic makeup and her hair tied up in a ponytail as she grabbed a black jacket along with her glasses and ear defenders. Keigo had promised her that she would be treated to lunch and refused to let her make it for them both, though his stomach soon betrayed him enough with a grumble that she made him a snack box so he would keep going until lunchtime. He knew that there was every chance that his patrol would be compromised, and he’d have to take someone in. But at least Katsumi would be safely out of the way as he took off with her in his arms to fly across the city. He liked to keep his social life and his work life apart normally, but his mate seemed to be the exception.
His office was huge, even with her desk now set up in the same room. She shook her head at the piles of paperwork and tutted at him. The other sidekicks were in a different room, but Keigo wanted to keep Katsumi away from them for now. Though the sidekicks didn’t seem to get that message as they all ended up sticking their head in as Katsumi was getting the computer set up.
“So, with the dates on these things, how the hell do you keep your system up to date?” Her eyes narrowed as she shuffled the papers about that had been relocated from his desk to hers.
Hawks grinned like a kid and had the decency to look sheepish as he admitted that he didn’t. “I tend to leave it to the sidekicks to do the paperwork.”
“On top of their own paperwork from their own patrols?” She asked, and sighed as he shrugged at her. “I’m never getting out on patrol if I’m just sat here doing yours.”
“Well, that’s the plan for now. See if we can’t get the media’s heat off you.”
“Mr Hawks! Good morning!” A young girl opened the doorway, making Katsumi’s focus snap to the intruder, especially since she was carrying a tray of coffees with only two in the holder. “I brought your usual!”
“Eh, I told you to stop doing that,” Hawks brushed off her cheeriness as he physically turned his back on the sidekick with disinterest. He wasn’t an idiot, he could feel the growl emanating from his mate at the closeness displayed, though Keigo couldn’t recall her name. He didn’t take the time to learn much about his sidekicks, they changed frequently, and he wasn’t interested in raising the next generation of Heroes. Katsumi was different in that she was working under him with a purpose and had no intentions of being released from his agency.
“Oh! The new sidekick!” The girl beamed, brushing past Hawks’ wings, and putting his coffee down on his desk. She bowed to Katsumi with the widest grin on her face. She was cute and bubbly and overenthusiastic with bubble-gum pink hair, as Katsumi realised that she wasn’t the only one looking in to see the new face. “I’m Sata Tsukino, also known as Turbodash! My quirk is superspeed using feathers generated by my energy!” She winked at Katsumi, and she had a feeling that the enthusiasm wasn’t faked as Katsumi bowed in return. “Your quirk is so powerful! I’m surprised that you’re working with us.”
“The HPSC cleared her,” Hawks interrupted. “And don’t call her ‘Mentala’, it’s all over the news in poor taste. We need a new name to call you,” he leaned over and kissed her on the cheek. “I’ve got patrols to do, but you’ve got plenty to start with!” He beamed at her and gave her a thumbs up, before disappearing out of the room, and leaving Katsumi to deal with several weeks of paperwork that had been accumulating on his desk.
“What is your quirk, exactly?” A male with a familiar strange face asked Katsumi, though she couldn’t recall where she knew him from, what his name was or his quirk. “We’ve heard everything through the news, and you’ve suddenly been cleared by the HPSC-“
“There’s nothing sudden about my clearance. It’s been ongoing since shortly after the event where I debuted with the League of Villains. I was captured before the boy was rescued by Heroes. It was also because of me that the boy was rescued because they then knew where he was being kept and the way in and out of the building,” she explained with a short tone. “My quirk is ‘puppet mistress’. As long as I have visual contact with someone, then I can enter their mind and box them away, letting me take control of their bodies and quirks. I will instantly know what they know about their quirks, along with what they know their limits to be. I also have the ability to wipe someone’s memory of what they did while I am in control. And to answer the next question, I can look at someone through a monitor and take control too. It’s not as strong as in person, but I don’t physically need to be present for a fight. Which has plenty of advantages,” Katsumi shrugged, before turning to look at the screen.
Sata took some pity on her and ended up spending the day showing Katsumi how the paperwork needed entering on the system. Lunch was a takeaway to the office job, and the pair worked through until Hawks came back from his patrol. When Sata was dismissed to go and work on her own stuff. Keigo locked the office door behind her departure, though Katsumi missed the sympathetic look on the other sidekick’s face, as the winged Pro coasted around Katsumi’s desk until he was behind her. He plucked her up out of her seat and dropped his weight in it, before seating her on top of him with his arms around her waist, and his head buried into the crook of her neck. She smelt of familiarity and home, as Keigo let it calm him while she seemed to continue working around him.
“You seemed friendly with Turbodash,” he murmured, his voice barely reaching her ears.
“I needed someone to show me the system for input and its quirks on how things are stored. She made the offer so that’s all we were doing. You also missed lunch,” she replied, her fingers working swiftly over the keyboard. “We ordered sushi in,” she nodded to the containers. “How was your patrol?”
“Just the usual. I’m updating your wardrobe, no more trousers,” he grumbled, and rutted up against her backside to make a point. Her laugh was so bright and airy it almost hurt him.
“You don’t want to fly with me in a skirt, I’ll end up showing most of Japan what you see in me.”
“You’ve got a locker here; so, you can keep them in there. You need to get fitted for a new Hero costume too. Something easy to undo,” he smirked against her skin as he deftly undoes the trouser button and slides his finger under her panties.
“You’re a menace!” She scolds him, though Keigo already knew it was mostly for appearances sake. “I did check my contract, and you literally added ‘managing Hawks’ stress levels’ to my job description. And the encrypted text message confirmed what that involved. Though you didn’t need to be quite so crude.”
“It means you get paid for your heats, and it means we don’t have to publicly declare your secondary quirk,” he shrugged, before Katsumi realised why she had been given a desk with a solid panel in the front of it as her trousers ended up pooled on the floor and Hawks had sunk himself fully into her core. “Oh, don’t mind me, I’m just managing my stress.” She didn’t need to turn her head to see the smirk on his face, it was evident in his tone.
The creature’s breaths are hot and wet against Hux’s neck
I’ve read The Season is Calling (https://archiveofourown.org/works/18114695) by @nerdherderette
It’s an ABO story, that starts with an unwanted heat and alpha chasing omega. But while it’s already a satisfying reading, then we learn the backstory of that chase, which makes it even more interesting. (And all ends well)
What if when female werewolves go into heat it’s not so much that it’s some mystical wolf thing so much as they just feeling their ovulation more intensely than a human would? Maybe their wolf just focuses on it more so they just think it’s more intense than it actually is.
I redraw the first picture in accordance with the new rules, and now it is just a law-abiding citizen, who likes to dress as a fox and vigorous exercises. Right?
