Favourite East Coast Restaurants?



Hello,

So I’ve decided that the East Coast is for me now and I’ve really gotten into the culinary scene. I’m not a huge fan of not having sit down meals, I always like to sit down to eat and enjoy the vibes, watch the city pass me by, and gain new experiences. Food isn’t just food to me, it’s a way to share life experiences and get to know people better, it’s a way to find what you love, it’s a way to experience the fruits of peoples’ passions, and it’s a way to get to know what you enjoy. There’s nothing like a beautiful meal and drinks with someone who I love or want to love or just going out with someone to get to know them better and so I find myself spending so much of my life in restaurants to have more of the experiences I want to have and meet more people. From colleagues to lovers to friends, so many of the people I admire and I have made our best memories in restaurants and continue to cherish them.

Those are all of the restaurants that I can think of at the moment, I allow Condé Nast and the Michelin Star Guides to influence me and help me to choose where I want to make my reservations and I decided to forgo the chains that I enjoy (Nobu) and stick with local and more niche restaurants. There’s nothing like trying new places and unique dishes and I feel like the repetition of places like Nobu and other luxury chain restaurants doesn’t exactly take away from the experience of going out and having a beautiful night at a beautiful place but it makes some experiences feel less unique. I think that Nobu and chains are wonderful if you’d like to do a more laid back night or go to a familiar place but I’ve found that sometimes a unique night can be thrilling.

I cannot tell you the amount of times I heard this growing up. “Such and such wasn’t a bad person, just a result of their time.” Nope. Sorry. You’ve got it wrong again. These people weren’t thermometers, but rather thermostats. They WERE the hatred and bigotry. They were the reason so many of our ancestors were killed, mistreated and stolen from. They were either actively or passively to blame for what happened ... and what is happening now. Treating racist and white supremacist with care, like they are fragile beings, is disrespectful to those of us hurt by their bile.
