TW: Transphobia, detransitioning?? (Ig) Religious trauma, alt-right talking points, talking about fauxcest, talking about pedophilia
ABSRDST detransitioned
I am going to fulfill the insecure instinct this person has that someone would respond defending "pedophiles" and "evil devil worshippers" as someone who has genuinely been uplifted by their music.
I would never decry someone's choice to follow their own path in life, and I definitely have way more respect for queer people who decide to explore their gender before coming back to say "no, I think what I started with was right"
And on some level, I am the tone this kind of frustration is birthed from. The supposed authoritative posturing that shoo's the melding of different perspectives into understanding. I can't deny that is what this statement inspired in me because like...
I'm not going to hell, Jack. I'm not. I am embedded in the core sin you have now roped into a monocultural understanding of, and I am a pathetic, unworthy sodomite and my soul is actually pretty ok ✌️
For those who don't know who this is, Jack VanOudenaren aka ABSRDST was a queer electronic pop producer who has put out work that, in recent years, has given me a crutch to lean on during difficulties transitioning.
Really simple yet evocative production
In the first video, Jack talks about getting right with god, detransitioning, regretting his participation in the flippant, evil culture, and about how his many interactions with creepy trans and queer people have pushed him back into the arms of the Almighty for fear of his everlasting soul suffering for eternity.
Specifically, the song from his body of work he brings up as problematic is Devil Boyz
Citing that his friend said their four-year old loved the song where he said "we worship the devil and we like fat dicks" He posits that by making the song and the four year old hearing it, they have molested the child's brain.
This emotional through-line spurns a question that he repeats, seemingly to the people who he has garnered a following from
"Like, what are we doing? What are we even doing?"
I'm not gonna lie, even though I maintain that respect for people who go through the process of exploring gender just to arrive back at the first step, there is a part of me that gets saddened. Like, that "I guess youre happy, it's your life, but what could have been?" Ya know?
Jack doesn't inspire in me any of that. It's very clear that they feel wronged and burdened by the queer community for introducing any manner of sin into their life.
One of the examples he brings up twice is the idea that incest porn, with "obvious size differences"...
What is he even getting at here?
The idea that people look at seemingly "harmless" incest porn would inspire said people to enact the events in the pornography.
I know I'm posting this on the incest kink website so it feels a bit like preaching to the choir of what the obvious glaring holes are in that.
Which should make the rest of this obvious.
Why is one of the most obnoxiously kickass underground queer artists being possessed by pedophile-defending pundits and the like?
And after we got an extended version of Rocket Ships too, last year. 😶
☝️ like, yeah, man
I get the sense that he feels he's being blocked from a dialogue to be started. Like he's not allowed to say certain things about freaky trans people that might get pushback. I don't say this to provide pressure then on an already sore subject for this person, it comes from a place of connecting with the music and not a lot of queer people did it like they did which I really admired, this shit means a lot to me.
It is incredibly disappointing to see someone so talented, conflate the ills of the current day with trans people, as if we are in any way not contributing to the world being a more bearable place to live in, to be quite fucking honest. And even moreso, the boldness to bring up Epstein , to imply that we are somehow missing the point of all of it, by deepening our sin, is beyond insulting.
Who knows what awaits this new direction. I'm certainly not listening to ABSRDST's indie VULTURES release which I'm sure is, if he does continue making music, what he wants.
There's definitely a reason it's not "A Message to All Trannies" and instead "A Message To All Furries"
Because saying Furries are mindless hedonistic monsters is somehow less polarizing than directly saying that about trans people.
