First of all: this post contains spoilers! I’m putting everything under the cut, so please don’t read it if you don’t want to be spoiled (at least up to the prison scene)
I LOVE THIS DLC
‼️ Final part added. (The latest reblog has it but it’s full of spoilers, so skip if you wanna stay safe!)
Sooooo!
When Basim saw Dervish and said “Did you miss me?” I swear I answered for Dervish like: “Yes, sweetheart. Very much.” 🫠😂🤍
Also… Basim’s grandfather’s name is Khalid!! 😮 That’s a huge discovery!
And I’m so happy Basim finally said something about his mother too. He said she passed away very young. 😔 Basim, PLEASE… pls give us a name. 😭 Otherwise we fans will have no choice but to make one up. 😭
Apparently, back then Ishaq (Basim’s father) personally entrusted Basim to Dervish to raise him. 😢 I always thought Basim had been alone on the streets and Ishaq had disappeared without saying a word. Now, this hits so differently… 🥹
I also felt really bad for Hind. And Basim was such a gentleman, helping her and staying with her. 🙂↕️
And OH MY GOD the scene where Basim talks to Hind’s merchant friend (I can’t remember his name rn)😂😂😂 Basim’s face and that silence?! PERFECT. I laughed SO hard. 🤣 Oh, Basim… Basim… 😂🤍
AND ENKIDU!! He brings the key to Basim!!! So cute!! 🦅🥹
And there Basim drops a few little hints about Loki. 🙃 Does this mean we might see Nahal later on?? 🥹
When Basim was thrown into prison, my heart BROKE. 😭🥺
[Honestly, all these scenes and dialogues?? PURE fanfiction material. I’m already spiraling. 🫠🫠😭🤍]
By the way! When he said Abis, for a second I thought, “Wait… is this going to turn out to be Basim’s brother??” 😮 Because the meaning of his name was the opposite of Basim’s name… I thought for a second he might be Ishaq’s ungrateful son, like Basim’s evil brother or something. 😅 Thankfully, that guess was quickly destroyed when I learned Abis was just a prison keeper.
When Basim talked to the prisoner in the next cell, it weirdly reminded me of Morse code… don’t ask why. Maybe because in modern movies they communicate in coded ways, so it triggered something in my brain.
What shocked me was that the prisoner actually KNEW Ishaq!! He had direct information about him! From someone you’d NEVER expect to know anything about Basim’s father. So… could he still be alive? 😭
————————
Anyways, it was AMAZING so far!! I LOVED every second of it! Such beautiful details too! The references to history, art, architecture and the gameplay enhancements, free run, the main story and side quests… ALL chef’s kiss! ✨😍🤩
Btw, Basim has become so agile! 😍 His movements are faster now. He even takes less time to mount or dismount a horse or push something. Amazing!
Did you notice Basim holding the perspective drawing of the great mosque of Samarra in his hands? I had posted about that mosque before and mentioned how it was inspired by ziggurats. Even in my codextober calligraphies, I talked about Basim’s childhood home and its connection with Ishaq and the mosque. 🥹
Whenever I continue the story, I’ll come back here to share more!! 🙌🏻 It’s 4 am here; good night… or, well, good morning 🥹 (I regret NOTHING. I LOVE the new dlc!)
