My accepting teacher,

So I actually don’t give teachers a lot of credit for how accepting most have been with me. There is one teacher in particular that didn't get it at the start, who called my my birthname without realizing it was hurting me. He stopped after I changed my name a second time because he finally realized and put the pieces together, “Luke. Short hair cut. He/Him pronouns. OHHHH!”

He gave me my nickname, which he made into a song. It is a mix of both my former and chosen name; something that made me so very dysphoric a couple of months back. He turned that around for me, made that dysphoria into something I could laugh at. Yeah, he forgets pronouns sometimes but as soon as he says she, in an instant its “Sorry, he.”

I see him less times than my other teachers who make literally sometimes, no effort to use my pronouns. He even said to me, “Why does she call you a she still? Even I’m managing.” It’s nice to be an environment where I am fully accepted for being a boy.

I would probably say thank you to him in real life for this but I think in all honesty it needs mentioning here because hes a good person, and hes taught me not to believe that all teachers are transphobic.

I’d just like to say thank you for making college bearable and not pushing more dysphoria onto me.
