You: "You're AI positive? So you support AI stealing art?"
Me: "No, I support technological advancements that can enhance life quality and make life more accessible for everyone... like Hearview glasses."

AI is everywhere—but is it ethical, ecological, and economical? Today I dig into the “3 Es of AI,” from haunted server farms to tech that serves people, not just profits. #AIethics #Dreamspace #SustainableTech #NeurodivergentWriters #FutureOfWriting
I complained about this already but I’m here complaining again because I was once again basically flash banged because flash warnings just don’t exist I guess. I now need to go lay down and maybe melt into a puddle - 🍡
//: hey Kebab! The rest of your anons are in queue - I've got a quick-ish solution to this so it shall skip queue. I feel your pain so deeply oml, but, good news! Most applications allow you to pause GIFs and videos by default.
I've got my Tumblr set to only show movement in GIFs on interaction, and it seems to limit the number of flash bangs I get. It works ~90% of the time, and the 10% that it doesn't work are usually self inflicted.
1. Tumblr
Desktop:
Click your profile > Settings > select your blog.
Scroll to Post Settings > toggle 'Auto-play GIFs' off.
Mobile App:
Go to Account > Settings > General > turn off Autoplay GIFs.
2. Discord
Desktop / Browser:
User Settings > Text & Images.
Turn off 'Automatically play GIFs'
Mobile App:
Settings > Text & Images > same toggle.
3. Facebook
Desktop:
Settings & Privacy > Settings > Videos > Auto-play Videos > set to Off.
Mobile App:
Settings > Media and Contacts > Videos and Photos > Auto-play > Never.
4. Instagram
Instagram doesn’t have a direct toggle in-app, but you can prevent some of it via enabling Mobile Data Saver / Low Data Mode: Settings > Account > Cellular Data Use > Use Less Data (limits autoplay).
iOS: Settings > Instagram > Background App Refresh off
Android: Settings > Instagram > Use Less Data.
5. The application formerly known as Twitter
On the assumption Elon hasn't removed it; Settings > Accessibility, display, and languages > Data usage > Video autoplay > Never.
6. Reddit
Desktop: User Settings > Feed Settings > Autoplay media > Never.
Mobile: Settings > Auto-play GIFs/Videos > Off.
7. General
Firefox / Chrome:
Firefox: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/block-autoplay
Other browsers (chrome etc) that don't have motion reduction inbuilt can be hacked using extensions, I've heard good things about AutoPlayBlock
iOS / Android System-wide:
Data saver / battery saver modes often stop autoplay automatically to save battery and data.
On iOS: Settings > Accessibility > Motion > Reduce Motion (stops some autoplaying GIFs).
If you haven't already, I would also recommend using Tumblr's content hashtag filtering for #eyestrain, #flash warning, etc. It adds a secondary layer of warning if the original creator, or reblogs, have tagged their content properly.
<3 Hope this helps
Apple released a new video campaign that showcases the brand's accessible technology from a range of perspectives.
THIS IS HOW YOU DO IT
Good job with that recent update, Blackboard.
(Little did it know, there was already a description in my text post).
Image description: A screenshot of a pop-up with black text on a white background. Text reads “Are you sure you want to continue without including an Image Description? Without it the image may not be accessible to some users with disabilities, or to those using a text browser, or browsing the Web with images turned off.”
