I have been volunteering with AccesSurf for the past six months or so. When I started surfing earlier this year and I caught my first wave, that feeling was incredible. AccesSurf helps people with various special needs to go out and hopefully have that same experience. Something they wouldn't otherwise be able to do.
This month AccesSurf turns 16! All through November, they are rasing money by asking people to donate $16. You can donate here. If you do choose to donate, there is a drop-down to select "Individual Fundraiser", be sure to select "Joey"! And thank you for taking the time to consider this!
This is a cool video about what AccesSurf does for people with various special needs. Check it out!
Camping on the north shore this week with AccesSurf.
That fundraiser that I was posting about? In total, we raised over $22,000 to help people with disabilities and special needs! That money direct goes to help those people to enjoy things which many able-bodied people take for granted, like enjoying a day at the beach.
Mahalo nui to those of you who supported!!!
I recently traveled to Hawaii to volunteer with AccesSurf and the 2026 Hawai'i Adaptive Surfing Championship. The video does a great job of showing highlights and interviews with competitors.
