what’s sad to me is that waterparks seems to become awsten’s solo project. i basically can’t hear otto’s drums or geoff’s guitar on the newer tracks

so like i’m gonna be really honest, this doesn’t necessarily bother me? like if it doesn’t bother geoff and otto then it doesn’t bother me. some bands have pretty egalitarian creative control between members and some give it to only a member or two and as long as everyone involved is fine with the division of labour i’m fine w/ it. like... i’ve been here for like four months so please correct me if i’m wrong, but i’ve always kind of gotten the impression that most of the creative decisions are awsten’s. like i’m sure geoff and otto have opinions about their guitar/drum parts (and it’s not like the new song has no guitar/drums or anything, it does) but beyond that, i’ve always felt like awsten does the bulk of the work in terms of guiding what their music sounds like. 

tbh it’s hard to tell how many anyone does anything w/ how infrequently geoff/otto get to talk in interviews and such lmfao. honestly, i’d love to hear more about the band’s creative process. i wish they talked about it more because i’m very curious.
