by Jason Helopoulos | christians are people of the Holy Scriptures. We order our lives and beliefs according to the teachings of Scripture. As the Westminster Shorter Catechism rightly asks and answers, “What rule hath God given to direct us how we may glorify and enjoy him?” “The Word of God, which is contained in the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments, is the only rule to direct us how we may glorify...
by Larry Ball | According to Scripture, a Christian who publicly identifies as a homosexual does not meet the qualifications to be an elder in the church. When he “comes out,” he must be “ruled out” as a qualified man to serve as an elder in the church. He doesn’t make the cut. He is not above reproach, no matter how many study committees say otherwise…
The Heart of True Praise: The Psalmist as Our Example in Psalm 119
I believe Scripture is divinely inspired. Every human author, guided by the Holy Spirit, penned the only word that is profitable for “teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work” (2 Timothy 3:16-17). In the inspiration of Scripture, God felt it necessary to provide songs written at the commission of His…

None of these things has the power to uphold our lives, but we often treat them as though they do. The truth is that Jesus…

Normally when people try to share Christ or the Gospel, their testimony falls into one of two categories. The first category is personal experience. People will share about their past and how God has changed them or how thy overcame something. This is the way I was taught to share the Gospel…

Many Are Listening and Criticizing, what is the response of the teacher?
Many Are Listening and Criticizing, what is the response of the teacher?
I love the teaching of John Macarthur. I respect him highly as an expositor. I am thankful for his ministry. In the same way, I respect men like Matt Chandler, Francis Chan, and others of that stature. They have done much in the way of honest Biblical theology and of paving the way for Christ-centered expository churches in America. So, I am not being critical of their ministries or character and…

Should the local church plan outreach? Why?
Should the local church plan outreach? Why?
As we discovered last week, personal evangelism is worked out by God. God works together the circumstances of our lives so that, in those circumstances, His Gospel will be placed in front of the people as a testimony of Him through us. This is the very reason God works together persecution specifically. We are sent out as sheep among wolves.
