In having dealt with someone like this for the better part of almost two years, I recently discovered that no matter how well you try to inform them of their actions, they won't be able to recognize what it is that has taken place. You see clearly that they've done "X" which led to "Y" and "Z" is the resultant issue.
In their mind, "X" didn't happen, so "Y" must have happened for some other reason, and they don't see why the consequences of "Z" are being brought upon them, if "Z" is even recognizable or acceptable to them at all.
They end up bending and contorting a story multiple different ways until you're confused and your reaction is the sole reason for the issue you are bringing to their attention.
This isn't healthy. This is something that you need to pay close attention to and if at all possible, distance yourself from it. This dynamic will drain the life out of you and one day you will realize that you are only a shell of who you once were.
