You just got to let me try (to give you what you want) - Part 1 of ?

So this is all @insanereddragon​ ‘s fault. And I am sure she will gladly take the blame.

This morning we got into talking about what if there was a Hartwin fic where the both of them were omegas and then we got into talking about their good alpha friend Merlin helping them out with some aspects of their heats and it somehow turned into me starting a new fic about ace alpha Merlin and how he came to be in a relationship with both Harry and Eggsy. Yes you read that right. Ace Alpha Merlin, because I can and if someone wants to give me shit about it, be my guest :D

So yeah, this is my first abo fic (like I have talked about it with peeps before but never wrote anything publishable) and hopefully I will do the idea justice.

Since I am not aware of anyone stance on abo I won’t be tagging anyone this time (except @dianyx I am sure she’ll want the tag) but do tell me if you want to be tagged in the next parts :)

It’s entirely by chance that Merlin is the one greeting Galahad at HQ after the agent has miraculously turned up from a mission that had gone so tits up Arthur had been seconds away from toasting him.

Galahad can barely stands, but whether it’s because of exhaustion or injuries is made unclear by the ruined state of his suit. Not that it matters. His first stop will be the infirmary no matter what, even if Merlin has to drag his sorry arse there himself.

It’s a testament to how bad the mission has been when Galahad doesn’t protest and that the man usually so guarded all but sags against him when Merlin steps closer in a silent offer to take some of his weight.

They’re both on friendly terms, but they’re not exactly friends either. Merlin is always busy and if he enjoys the agent’s company, Galahad keeps his distances more often than not.

Not that Merlin blame him. He might be a handler, but no matter his unusual choice of profession, he’s still an alpha. Merlin would be wary of himself too if he as a beta having to constantly deal with the alpha Knights’ bullshit posturing.

But wary or not, Galahad must trust him somehow to allow him to guide him through the corridors when he’s so weak. The man might only be a beta, but he’s first and foremost a spy. He didn’t survive three years in the field without developing some healthy paranoid survival instincts.

It’s a bit distracting how Galahad seems to be unconsciously nuzzling against his throat as they walk. He’s not used to someone being close enough to him and even less so to any kind of stimulation to his scent glands, tough unlike most other alphas Merlin knows, it’s doesn’t make his stomach boils with want. Truth be told, not much has that kind of effect on him besides his rut and even then, he is much more annoyed at all the time he’s losing over a stupid biologic imperative whenever he’s caught in one.

He’s always been told it’s only because he hasn’t met the right omega yet, but the thought of knotting anyone always makes him gag. That and any other sexual act really.

For a second, he thinks his musings made him hallucinate the sweet smell of an omega, but another discreet sniff of the air makes him realise it’s coming from the man pressed up against him. He is slow to understand all the implications of his discovery, but once he does, his sudden epiphany has him stopped dead in his tracks.

Galahad doesn’t seem to notice, just uses the opportunity to press his nose right where a mate would usually bite down to bond with him.

“Galahad.” He tries a couple of times to get his attention, but he seems to be sleeping while standing up for all intents and purposes. “Harry!”

Either the use of the unexpected use of his first name, Merlin’s sharp tone or the change in his smell from comforting to something akin to panic shakes Galahad out of whatever spell had fallen on him. For a moment, he only blinks lazily at Merlin, as if waking up from a profound sleep.

Then their position and what he’s unwillingly revealed must register, because Merlin can see horror bleeding into his eyes.

Before he can make a run for it, which he really isn’t in any shape for, Merlin takes a step back, makes sur his hands are well within Galahad’s line of sight and bares his neck in an obvious sign of submission. His actions are shocking enough that Galahad freezes in his spot, which is exactly what Merlin had wanted.

“Harry, do you have blockers anywhere close?”

The other man frowns in puzzlement, but he still answers. “In my locker, at the gym.”

Merlin lets himself relax a bit. Getting there without running into anyone should be feasible and will allow Galahad to take a shower while the blockers start taking effect and mask his true scent. And if Galahad changes into his spare clothes, it’ll only help in making him smell like the beta he’s pretending to be until he can get home.

He would prefer to take him to the infirmary without the detour of course, but he knows that even after three years of exemplary service, the second Arthur finds out there is an omega Knight amongst their ranks, the old bigoted bastard will throw a fit and strip Galahad of his title before kicking him to the curb.

“Good, let’s go.”

Galahad’s confusion is nearly palpable now, but he doesn’t need to be told twice before following him to the gym. Merlin makes sure to stay at a good distance from him, to not let him feel crowded and their progress is made slower than he’d prefer for it, but he won’t make the other man more uncomfortable than he already must be when it’s not an absolute necessity.

Harry makes a bee-line for his locker as soon as they make it to their destination while Merlin stays by the door to make sure no one gets in.

“Take a shower and change. We could probably chalk it off to you coming too close to an omega during your mission, but I’d rather not take that chance.“

About fifteen minutes later, they’re on their way again, the hint of honey in Galahad’s scent only perceptible to Merlin because he now knows it is there to be smelled. They walk in silence again, but this time, it is awkward instead of the comfortable camaraderie it had been before.

He would like to pretend it doesn’t affect him, but he always make it a point not to lie to himself. Losing the strings of friendship he had with Galahad hurts and only serve as a reminder to just how lonely he truly is at Kingsman.

MY HEADCANON WON’T FIT IN YOUR ASK BOX SO HERE:

Harry Hart has always loved movies. Next to his umbrella and his manners and his dapper suits, it’s one of the things that makes Harry… Harry. He’s tried in the past to organize movie nights for him and Merlin, but the latter usually finds some means of escape because, well, Merlin sees enough real spies making stupid decisions on a daily basis. He doesn’t understand why Harry wants to devote their free time to watching fictional spies making stupid decisions. So, Harry respects that decision in the same way Merlin respects that Harry will never quite understand his fixation on fiddling with their perfectly good Kingsman gadgets and making occasionally questionable “improvements”. But then Eggsy comes along and Harry learns that the boy hasn’t seen much of what the film industry has to offer. After a bit of coercion, they finally manage to to Merlin to join them.

Merlin discovers that, with Harry curled up on one side and Eggsy on the other, perhaps movie night isn’t so bad after all.

Okay, so, I don’t think you understand how much I love movies and this headcanon makes me inexplicably happy.

Merlin bringing up every fallacy the James Bond series has to offer, but it’s only because he actually really likes them and he can’t let Harry know because he would get teased mercilessly. Him binge-watching the old Get Smart TV show and then being absolutely appalled by the movie when it comes out even if Eggsy loves it.

Harry drags them to the premiere of every action-spy movie and he pretends to grumble about it, but he practically waxes poetic about them on the way home.

MOVIES AND MERHARTWIN IS MY JAM AND I HAVE TO STOP MYSELF.

Merhartwin Headcanon: Eggsy and Harry always bring little trinkets back to Merlin from their foreign missions. He has entire bookshelves in his office dedicated solely to his collection of snow-globes and seashells and other assorted knick-knacks. Merlin can tell you the stories behind all of them because each represents a mission when his boys came home to him safe and sound.

*shrieks* Merlin has never been a pack-rat, he’s always been really into minimalism, but the first time Harry and Eggsy show up with this little, useless gift he can’t bring himself to throw it away. Then they keep bringing them and he gets a whole shelf’s worth always telling himself that he’ll just take care of it the next time he does a big cleaning. Then the big cleaning actually comes around and he says they’re not doing any harm so they might as well stay, and it just keeps on going that way, all the while the little collection growing.

I am desperate for more ace!Merlin headcanons and fics. I still desperately want Merlin/Arthur/Gwen, where Arthur and Gwen are both allosexual and Merlin is a biromantic ace, and they all love each other and participate in the relationship but Arwen get their sexual fill with each other so there's no pressure on Merlin. <3

FROSTED CHEESECAKE THAT’S AMAZING! And I feel like Gwen and Merlin would mostly just be friend but they’d give each other a little kiss on the cheek every now and then and Merlin might braid her hair sometimes and they might go out on walks without Arthur occasionally. All three of them would go out on picnics all the time and horseback riding! And maybe sometimes all three of them would sleep together and just sleep, all nice and peaceful and cozy! Maybe there would be moments when Freya comes to mind and Merlin becomes lonesome and Gwen and Arthur swoop him up and make him happy again. And Gwen’s always telling Gwaine to take care of them when they go on quests and to have a fun time together. hurgurgbbuguiegwiqcuwqunc SO MUCH CUTENESS
