It’s weird what they did with Arcee because in an earlier IDW run she was ACTUALLY trans. There was a panel where she explained she was sparked male but it didn’t feel right to her.

Strike that, reverse it. That was actually the very last issue of the series, and prior to that, for eight whole years, Arcee had done nothing but grapple with the emotional and physical pain of his nonconsensual sex change.

Here's his first appearance, where he gets extremely upset at being misgendered. We also see him midway through said procedure, restrained and scared out of his mind.
