Personal best of 2016: Finally reaching the top of #huaynapicchu after a 5 day hike around the #salkantay reaching altitudes of 4,800 meters (15,748 ft), the highest I have ever been; all to initiate a pilgrimage in honor of Viracocha, the nomadic Andean deity. •••Yes, I am indeed part mountain goat••• I had been dreaming about this for ~5 years and being able to retrace the steps of #Viracocha with my own was a very humbling yet incredibly life affirming moment for me. So many emotions and excess baggage I had been carrying just spilled out of me. More importantly it helped me realize what my next Andean pilgrimage will look like and I was able to ask Viracocha to guide my journey. I will be back in the Sacred Valley by 2018. Join me.
