So the other reason people are so difficult to draw is, too often as an artist you begin to concentrate on the details and features of a person that you personally use or notice that lets you differentiate them from other people, but those may not always be their defining qualities.
Its the same reason that I find self portraits so difficult, (everyone sees themselves differently from how others see them) and portraits of people you do not know come out significantly better. anyway tell me what you think and what you find challenging

Why is are people so hard to draw? The difference between drawing a dog and drawing a person is what we consider our defining features are those features that make us different from other people and so if those features are not accurately captured it is difficult to say you successfully portrayed your model.
First things first before you pull out your microscopes to find every mistake in my logic or reasoning let me admit that this is simply my opinion.
With animals and objects on the other hand, for one to say they have successfully portrayed the said object, one simply has to portray the features that define it as that object (an red apple or a bread of dog).
Anyway to further put this into perspective, imagine if you had to draw each object with all the features it had separating it form other things like it. Like imagine i had to draw the features that defined@IceCreamEclipse ‘s dear friend hear from all other dogs of identical bread, this would prove far more difficult.
Anyway more on this topic later and fee free to tell me what you think and of your experiences, till next time.
