From where do the wise emerge?

Wisdom doesn't come from age necessarily. The youngest people can have the oldest souls.

It comes from exploration of the world. Letting yourself jump off the cliffs at every opportunity, because you're curious as to whether there's an ocean at the bottom. Absorbing the sights, letting your senses dance with the music of the world.

You are what you experience. You are the people you meet, the choices you make, the choices you don't make, and the paths you choose.

Molded by the sandstorms of the world, sometimes we may come out a polished sculpture, other times a gritty mess.

If you can't beat them, outwit them, change the rules, or turn back time, then join them. And play the game with their rules, but your manipulation.

Serenade to Salsa

The fire of the world of foods

why, even speaking thy name brings a flame to one's tongue

a vibrant red you bring

adorning the crackled edges of a dulled chip

at first cold

and then flaming with spiced heat

like cooling rain

ending in a tormenting blaze

being betrayed

yet also a splash of familiarity

what a gift it is you bring to this world

enchanting our tastes

simple, so simple you are

and vivacious, so vivacious all the same.

Simple Beginnings

They always tell you to write what you know. And though I initially disagreed, I really support it now. Everyone starts someone. You can't ever write, paint, or create masterpieces right off the bat. Rather, throughout the years, you learn and you mature. You test the waters and you find what's "write" (HAHA) for you. Most of all, you write what you know because it puts heart into the piece. You and you alone have experiences that no one else in the world has felt or seen in the same exact way. That's some real original stuff right there. When you write from your heart, you put a little magic into your piece that makes it enchanting for the rest of us to read.

Though one adventure may come to an end, it only marks the beginning of many more to come.

Before It's Gone

Time. It's such a relative thing.

In math class, the clock's hands seem to tremble slowly past a few seconds, and with friends, it seems that the stars come out far too early.

Our lives on Earth. While living it, life seems so long. So infinite. "Why do something when you can do it tomorrow?"-esque.

And yet, we are just humans. Fragile, dispensable, here one day and gone the next. Our lives, tiny specks floating through the infinite universe.

Why do we take things for granted? While they're still there, we don't appreciate them. While things are in their golden ages. We just don't take into account that someday, they're not gonna be there.

We take people for granted. We take opportunities for granted. And we take life for granted.

But we shouldn't, because someday, when we're at our death bed, we don't want to have regrets. Regrets that we didn't do something, didn't talk to someone, never took the chance to try something new.

You never know how much something means to you, until it's gone.

So go, live your lives. Don't look back, but take every opportunity you can, and cherish every memory, every scent, every sound, every feeling you get. Because one day, you won't have it anymore.
