Ever since we learn Sonic is trans, I've been wondering:
Will someone be transphobic towards him or does your AU world have no transphobia at all? đ¤
It's not a trans focused fic so I'm planning to not to mention it unless something comes up that necessites it! It's just who Sonic is in my fic
Went on a small infodump abt gender expression and sexuality below! Starts with Sonic, widens afterwards to other characters!
ACiP Sonic is a transgender man, AFAB. He's had top surgery in the past. He is not taking hormones. He's pretty comfortable with who he is now. Most of his friends are aware he's trans, he doesn't hide it!
Characters who as it is right now know he's trans (that made an appearance): Amy, Tails, Vanilla, Cream. Rouge has an inkling about it. Shadow has no idea what trans means, he takes Sonic at face value - he sees a hunter, he's heard him refer to himself as he, therefore he rolls with it. He doesn't care much about gender.
Amy, Tails, and Vanilla has had known Sonic pre coming out as trans. And, yes, Amy is a lesbian. She thought Sonic was a woman when she was crushing on him. Part of the reason she never confessed was the fear of Sonic's sexuality.
Sexualities and gender:
Sonic is achillean bi. Trans man, as I explained.
Amy is a lesbian, as mentioned. Cis.
Shadow is gay. Doesn't care about gender labels (prolly agender).
Rouge is sapphic bi. Trans woman.
Vanilla is cishet.
Knuckles hadn't experimented with his sexuality or gender at all.
Sourge hadn't experimented either. Questioning.
Starline is gay. Demiman.
Tails is pangender.
Blaze is a transfem queergender lesbian.
Kids don't get sexuality assigned cus they're kids and I don't think it's important for em yet! Most of em are pretty young kids. Tails's gender is an exception cus I think he thought about it a lot through Sonic's gender journey!
I don't use different pronouns for the characters in the story cus I feel it'd make it confusing (saying as a multi pronouns user who actually had and still has a lot of ocs with multiple pronouns, it gets pretty rough when it's not an RP), however here's my pronoun headcanons below too!
Format: Name - preferred1/preferred2/preferred3 + neopronouns
Sonic - he/they
Tails - any + kit/kits/kitself
Knuckles - he/him
Amy - she/they + fae/faer/faerself
Shadow - any, aside of it/its (doesn't care)
Rouge - she/her + vamp/vamps/vampself
Vanilla - she/her
Cream - she/her + bun/buns/bunself
Sourge - they/she
Kit - he/they/she
Starline - he/they
Blaze - she/her + burn/burns/burnself
They correct to the first preferred pronoun when misgendered, share neos with people they trust! People who say all pronouns they use without gaining trust: Tails, Cream, Blaze.
The fanfic isn't focused on its queerness aside of the sonadow relationship, so queer tags are reserved only for stuff that I feel like need to be clarified not to queerbait anyone for topics that aren't there! If I find a suitable place to naturally mention any of it, I'll mention it.
It's my fictional world so we don't do queerphobia, atl not super bad one! The entire story of the werewolves can by itself be used as a metaphor for finding yourself if you squint hard enough so
Anyway I'm open to any questions that may arise!

Unprecedented changes to routine US immunization recommendations âarbitrary and capriciousâ, court says
The chair of CDC ACIP promoted the dangerous idea that immunocompromised children are the threat.Â
ABC News - Chair of CDC's vaccine advisory committee questions polio shot recommendation Dr. Kirk Milhoan suggested some vaccines shouldn't be mandated. By Mary Kekatos January 26, 2026, 10:51 PM âWhat if the child gets a measles vaccine to protect your immunocompromised child and gets a negative consequence from that? Wasnât that your child causing that child to be harmed?â
Most people get their kid vaccinated so their own kid doesn't get measles, because any child who gets measles unvaccinated is at serious risk, both of death, and various negative consequences including terminal encephalitis up to many years after the measles infection.Â
But I think what's really sinister here is that we have an official at the CDC actually accusing immunocompromised children for supposed harms of other people's kids. This is genocide talk, and the words of someone in government who thinks disabled children, or disabled people in general, are a threat to the rest of the population. They keep saying it directly. I think it's important not to downgrade it in our minds because it sounds too outrageous, because we have seen what this government is capable of doing to innocent members of our communities.
But especially since the beginning of the pandemic there has been a really deranged attempt to blame people taking public health and personal precautions as somehow harming others, and I've been writing about the way this has been pushed as a narrative for years.Â
The Economy demands full participation, herd debt paid on an altar of lies âPublic healthâ is operating, but with the wrong information and the wrong solutions to solve the wrong problems, because those calling the shots have the wrong goals. Chloe Humbert Dec 23, 2022
The demonization of disabled or sick children in particular is offensive. But they've been pushing the idea that disabled people are a threat, that sick people will be potentially violent and nonsense like that people who wear N95 masks to avoid covid and flu should be considered menacing. Eric Adams and Andrew Cuomo have demonized people wearing medical masks. Media PR has tried to equate people avoiding covid to Vladimir Putin because he was avoiding covid during the time we later learned he was having cancer treatments. There was some attempt to paint the Trump rally shooter as somehow suspicious in high school because he wore a mask during the early years of the pandemic. The stigma around people with long covid and children with disabilities really persists. It's very troubling considering the history of the treatment of disabled children.

ACIP just voted to end universal hepatitis B vaccination. You know the thing that keeps babies alive? And now anti vaxxers will be able to point to a scientific panel and be like see even they agree that babies should be unprotected and die from preventable diseases.
Please if you have a baby protect that baby by vaccinating them and yourselves.

Sanjana Karanth at HuffPost:
Federal vaccine advisers handpicked by Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., a noted vaccine skeptic, voted Friday to recommend halting long-standing guidance that all newborns in the U.S. get vaccinated for hepatitis B, in what is the latest attack on childhood immunizations by the Trump administration. Since 1991, federal health recommendations have suggested that every infant receive their first dose of the hepatitis B vaccine in their first day of life, the second dose at one to two months, and the third between six and 15 months. Public health and medical experts say the first shot has been found to prevent liver infections and liver cancer in newborns. But the new language approved by the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices recommends giving that first dose only to infants who were born to infected mothers, and delaying it for all other newborns. Medical experts, including former CDC vaccine chief Dr. Demetre Daskalakis, sharply condemned the panelâs reversal. âThe vote on using serology to decide dose schedule for hep B is based on no data at all,â Daskalakis remarked on social media. âScience defeated yet again by the zombi ACIP. Oust this committee. Congress need to act now.â Hepatitis B is a devastating liver infection that can turn into a lifelong disease like cancer, liver failure and cirrhosis â especially for babies and children. Studies show that about 90% of infants who are infected at birth will go on to experience chronic infections, a quarter of whom will die of chronic liver disease. [...]
ACIP is made up of 11 members, including vaccine skeptics whom Kennedy chose after firing everyone on the panel this summer. The committee, which recommends vaccine guidance for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, originally planned to vote on the hepatitis B shot in September, but delayed the decision after some members requested more data on risks associated with it.
This is gross insanity by the ACIP: Their vote to pander to anti-vaxxer extremists by voting to recommend a delay the Hepatitis B shot for most babies is dangerous.
