Tabula rasa is an absence of preconceived ideas or predetermined goals, such as a clean slate. When people are born they might consider that, you have a clean slate. That is true because you haven't done anything in your life, yet, you are also born into a family who doesn't have a clean slate because they have been alive since their beginning. To me a clean slate is starting new/ restarting, like taking a break, or rethinking. Nurture and nature are two different ways people are shaped. Nurture is your experiences, environment, learned behaviors, and how you are raised, and nature is your genes, hormones and inherited traits. I believe that what shapes you more is nurture, an example of that is, your parents teaching you about Christianity. Christianity shapes your life and it's not genes or inherited traits, it's what you're taught and believe. Therefore nurture shapes a person more. Every child needs mothering, it doesn't always have to be their biological mother, it can even be a man like your father. Children need mothering because they need to learn how life works and learn how to do simple tasks such as tying their shoes, sharing their toys, or even learning how to obey and listen to someone. I believe it's the parents job to nurture the children rather than the society. If parents aren't available for the child or aren't in their life then yes, the society needs to help those children in need, but if the parents are around then they should be in charge of nurturing their own children. Going along with that, each parent has jobs they need to do to be able to raise a good and loving child. Every parent should love their child unconditionally no matter the way they look or act. The Bible says “ You shall love your neighbor as yourself”. Everyone should love one another even if they are different from them. In conclusion when children are born they need help being taught how to do their job in the world, by loving parents who love them no matter what.
