Hanahaki Disease (CW DEATH)
Dick and Roy were always the perfect duo. They were always meant to be; yet Roy fell in love with another, Jason, Dick’s little brother. Dick fell deep in love with a man who would never love him like his little brother.
Dick tried to accept it but his love never wavered for him. He tried to get over his love by dating others, though they never caught his heart like Roy did. He felt bad that he was still in love with Roy.
Waking up on day to a suffocating feeling, like something was blocking his throat. He sat up and started to cough violently, flowers coming out. He sat confused where the flowers came from, as Haley looked over from the other side of the bed. Haley seemed distressed at the flowers but Dick wasn’t able to think much about it as he has to work on a case.
Standing up, Haley follows him to the bathroom. Every day was like this, he would throw up flowers then Haley would follow him more and more. Everyday he got weaker and weaker. He had to stop going on patrol due to getting weaker everyday.
The flowers were becoming more and more blood red as time went on, freaking him out. Every person he went to had no clue what was going on but he knew that he was dying. He knew Haley knew as well. Haley knew since the beginning. He felt terrible, and he looked terrible. He stopped attempting to care for himself after a point as he knew it would be all for naught.
It was a month after the flowers started to show up when Roy visited him, seeing what he had become. Worried for him. Worried for a dying man. A man he was inadvertently killing. They talked for a while, Roy took him and Haley to the manor so Dick wouldn’t be alone. Not minding the flowers filling the room to care for his best friend.
At the manor the normally energetic Dick was now a husk of himself. Rarely eating and laying down as if waiting for death to reach him. His siblings watched him as he gave up. Damian attempted comfort by always being around and making sure he eats on time. But Dick rarely ate and it worried everyone.
Even if they wanted to change it they watched as he puked flowers one last time. Watching the flowers fall at a family dinner along with his head. He was gone. Just like that. A month and a half of the flowers, of the sickness. Dead in front of the family.
The funeral was held soon after with a blue red flower laid at his grave by Roy.
