Looks like I’ll have to retake the ACT to try and get some scholarship money...Anyone have any study websites/resources/tips to turn a 28 into like a 32? Thank you, love the studyblr community!

Me: but WHY
January 15th, 2018. It turns out when I don’t have to rush, I can manage to get a 29 on an ACT math practice test! I want at LEAST a 32, just in case the school I want to go to bumps the ACT score up again.
so this lowkey looks like a fake ad or some hotline bling aesthetic but honestly i’m helping my younger brother up his score && i thought why not share some of the resources i’ve come across. i’ll open up with my links && close with my links & resources ♥
disclaimer: i am using adblock for chrome. so these sites work perfectly for me & i have no computer or browser problems. please be aware they may have ads on the site but i do not see any/ click on any when using adblock!

tips & ‘tricks’ to beating the act !!
that’s slightly misleading of me to say but first things first : the act isn’t a game, a joke, or something you can cheat through. you need to be familiar with the material in order to make the best score you can. that’s not saying you need to know every single definition you’ve learned since grade school or that you need to have a 98% in every math or science class but familiarity with concepts can make the difference between a 17 & 19 or a 29 && 30. on some guessing questions, you can make a better choice just by being familiar. my tip : always look over the act guide and be familiar with at least major concepts.
earplugs : see if your testing center provides or allows ear plugs. coughing, sneezing, heavy breathing, foot tapping, air vents, etc. are all distractions. most facilities provide ear plugs, however, if at all possible check with your testing center before hand to make sure these are allowed. they’re amazing.
dont cram the night before. seriously, you may hear things that encourage you to do so, but if you have been studying correctly, you do not need to cram that night before. focus on sleeping well, ridding yourself of nerves and having everything planned out. if you feel too nervous you can read over material and relax. don’t go full on hardcore mode. you’ll just get stressed out. and research shows stress makes your brain work against you by shutting down core functions : especially those associated with learning. x
make a plan & stick to it. study 3 out of 7 days a week for 2-3 hours doing tests and practice questions, but leave the other 4 days for things like : homework, friends, family, church, social gatherings, etc. too much studying will make it feel like work & you’ll begin to resent studying and the act test will forever be linked with negativeity feelings instead of positive ones. that means you’ll be in a bad mood when you think about it / or take it. that’s no good!
don’t be afraid to reach out to other students taking the test. study groups, working together !! it’s amazing ok !!!
Just took the math section of my practice ACT test and even though I've been out of school for two months, I managed to get the score for the math section that I wanted :)
Hopefully, when I take it again in about a month I'll be able to do that again because my score was exactly where I wanted it to be. Still going to make sure I practice, though! There's always room for improvement.
Within the next few days I'll take the other sections so I can get a composite and also make sure that I'm good with the other sections. I would have taken the full deal today but I didn't have the time.
P.S. If anyone knows of any good resources for studying for the ACT math in particular and would be willing to pass them along to me, I'd be grateful!
