Ask Pink Pony Anniversary Submission #1: Activia

I had planned to release all of the images at the same time, after the poster was finished, but that will take quite some time and I don’t really want to sit on this art while everyone forgets it was a thing.

So here we have Activia’s OC, who was the first to submit their character. This is the first of five submissions, with two more just for the poster.

So wait is Twilight's halo supposed to be her cutie mark or Celestia's?

It’s Celestia’s, but more reminiscent of the halo from old Christian art. I was reviewing art history when I had the idea.

I listened through the whole bandcamp and enjoyed it a good bit, Knocking on the Floor is the main one that sticks in my mind. The rest of the songs seem to have gone in one ear and out the other because while I remember liking the music I don't remember the lyrics or tunes for them, admittedly I've commonly suffered from the inability to remember a band name or song apart from what I felt while listening to it.

Haha, Knocking on the Floor was always one of my favorite tracks off the album. Writing a song in that style was always something that I considered a challenge, so it was a huge moment when I finished that song.

Also I totally understand not remembering the lyrics or tunes. I can never remember much with my first listen to any album and I approached this album expecting that to happen. It’s not meant to be catchy, really! Like I said in Like the Crow; “I'm not trying to climb up the charts - like some of those other singers.” 

I wanted to write an album that grew richer with repeated listens so I tended to stray away from standard hooks and the like in favor of focusing on other parts of the compositions like lyrics.

So whats this about not being able to reblog stuff?

From the FAQ:

What happens when I block someone from my blog?

They won't be able to follow your blog.

They won't be able to send you fan mails or asks to your blog.

They won't be able to see your blog's posts in their Dashboard.

They won't be able to like, reblog, or reply to your blog's posts.

Your blog won't show up in their search results

Basically as it was up to last week, blocking someone meant you wouldn't see posts or reblogs from blocked people, and that no one would see reblogs in the notes from that person on posts you made. So if A blocks B, and B reblogs A, A will not see the reply in their activity feed, and the reply won’t show up in under the posts notes for anyone; only people following B or going to B’s blog directly would know about the reply existing. Essentially, it let A control what replies were public to people at large; it created an echo chamber where anything A didn't like was smothered out.

The new system, rolled out last week, does all that and more. Now B flat out can’t reply at all. Previous posts still “vanish”, and you outright can’t make any new ones. It’s the ultimate “I have the last word” feature.

Look back at how ~toxic~ a lot of this site is, and how many times you wondered “why isn't anyone saying anything back?”; this is why. Look at all those posts where someone says something shockingly stupid and thankfully someone does say something; Tumblr staff is working diligently to make sure replies that upset the OP can’t happen anymore and any kind of argument the OP is losing become a thing of the past.
