Im waking up from my nap specifically to let everyone know that if you’re in the hospital theres a good 90-97% chance that your nurse knows jack shit about type 1 diabetes bc today i had a patient and one nurse went “shes 54 you think shed know when to reorder her insulin so she doesnt run out” and upon me saying that is was prob an insurance thing but not wanting to Get Into It she went “but shes type 1 they just get that stuff for free” and when i tell you i have never left a room so fast
Also the three other nurses that kept going “idk why her sugars have been so up and down today, she was like 70 then 140 then 213 then back to 120” as if i wasnt standing there thinking to myself wow id kill for those numbers today im currently like 340 lmao:)))
So uhhhh in conclusion advocate for yourself and dont take outside shame to heart if its from someone that had a two hour lecture on diabetes 5+ years ago bc they prob dont even know how a cgm works but will shame you for not having one anyway
