Can someone tell me why I get so irrationally annoyed and angry whenever my phone dings for a text? Like it just takes so much more mental energy to text than just have a verbal conversation. Is this an NLD/NVLD or Autism thing? or is it just me

learning disability problem #47658: I still can't add or subtract time properly. Or tell time on analog clocks without thinking about it.
I'm going in for an interview for a youth/young adult small business program tomorrow. It is finally hitting me that this is actually real... and I have no idea what I'm doing. I never saw myself in this role, this doesn't fit with who I think I am, or what I think my strengths are. I just want to do art and hide away from people. My mother (a pediatric ICU nurse) to my school principal during one of my ADHD/LD meetings (she was referencing the school's general 'wait to fail' strategy). My dad kicked her under the table but I still think that this is one of my favorite things that she has ever said to a school official.
Even then, though, this quote is haunting. Realistically, wait to fail *is* killing children.
