speaking of gotham nights #11 - what'd u think of the other story in the issue? the one just abt jason
im in the middle of reading it now and i uh.. dont like it! i hate how people always feel the need to rewrite jasons origin, to give him MORE damage. like him being an overall good kid who lived through poverty was FINE. him dying at the hands of the joker even though he was a good kid who didnt deserve it was ENOUGH BAGAGE. we dont now need him in an orphanage run by a crazy gun lady. this is ridiculous.

dc has a crisis every so often and just reboots the entire universe. they've done it like 2 and a half times
oh yes, despite me ragging on marvel in this post because that’s the one i mostly read from, this post was in fact inspired by my friend telling me things about the DC universe that i did not wish to know
the only DC stuff i can take is the CW shows of Supergirl, Batwoman, and Legends of Tomorrow, because they are utter nonsense in a fun way (and even then... half the time i’m supposedly watching them i’m actually asking my friends “what the fuck is happening”)

Jk BUT, this is very quickly becoming one of my favs so you absolutely should!!! It’s VERY cartoony, so if you enjoyed the goofier aspects of say, Teen Titans or Brave & Bold, I would DEF recommend it!
They touch p well on some social issues too (gun control & child abuse mainly comes to mind), but it’s definitely in a way that feels... like a product of its time? (Being late 90s pushing right into the millennium ofc) that’s not to say it doesn’t handle it Well, just a bit differently from how I think a writer might approach it today.

THAT’S AMAZING but then they want more variety and the contest develops into making him wear OTHER heroes merch. the day he shows up at breakfast with a green lantern t-shirt under his rich person robe (he was still half asleep, and tim left it where alfred usually leaves clothes for him) is the day everyone loses it
