Never push yourself.
I believe this should the mantra of every person who wishes to live to their optimum potentiality in all walks of life.
Much has been said about going against the current. Everything that truly works for you moves with the current, not against it. So, if you feel yourself pushing too hard in any direction, STOP and INVESTIGATE.
Most often we assume that we must reassess our goals, perhaps aim lower, or push even harder, what if it is not about your ability, but about your direction? What if it is not about reassessment but about realignment?
CV 17 is one of my favorite acupuncture points because every time I needle it on myself I calm down and taking deeper breaths. It’s excellent for heart health, but it also calms anxiety and helps to release pent up emotions. I also love to use it on people with upper back/shoulder tension bc they are usually hunched forward over computers all the time, and this helps to open the chest so that the upper back then relaxes. . When I first had this point done in acupuncture school it felt like a roller coaster ride with wave after wave of pent up sadness releasing...so it can be a strong point if you carry a lot on your shoulders or keep a lot to yourself. But it helps. You feel freer, lighter, calmer, after it’s done, and it’s easier to laugh. This is part of why I fell in love with acupuncture long ago. I felt so alive after a treatment. I could go in sad and tired and annoyed and after acupuncture I’d walk out, and suddenly I’d notice how beautiful the night was, how good it felt to breathe the air. I’d smile more and feel more energy, more clarity. I call it the natural acupuncture high, but really I think acupuncture is good at moving blood, reducing inflammation, relaxing muscles, calming anxiety, reducing stress, and helping us to get back to our best selves. . #acupunctureworks #acupuncture #acupunctureheals #acupuncturepoints #reducestress #reduceinflammation #relievestress #relievestressfriday #reduceanxiety #reducepain #stressrelieve #relievetension #adirondacks #stressrelief #stressreliever #stressmanagement #stressfree #stressless #stressreduction #stressrelieving #anxietytips #anxietysupport #wellnessthatworks #wellnesss #naturalmedicine #naturalremedies #naturalremedy #upstateny #openthechestandbreathe #justbreathe (at Acupuncture Nirvana) https://www.instagram.com/p/CLw0YZpn_cG/?igshid=utb491v0o06z
What are some reasons to get acupuncture? When my patients first get acupuncture, I see their digestion improve a little, their sleep improve a little, their pain decrease a little, their mood improves a little, their periods start to regulate a little...and all those littles add up to “well I’m not sure if it was the acupuncture but I feel a lot better.” I can’t promise those things but I’ve seen it happen over and over. Then there are the patients who want to tell everyone about acupuncture, because it helped them walk without a cane, or they were able to lower their pain dose, or even though they have cancer and are on chemo they have few side effects compared to their friends, or 6 weeks in after breaking their ankle they did a bone scan and they are 1 month ahead of schedule with healing. I’m not promising that...it’s just what I’ve seen. There’s also the every day stuff. Like the people with arthritic hands who can braid their granddaughters hair again after acupuncture. Or the way it can help hot flashes. Or the people who come in because it helps their allergies or knee pain or headaches. Or the person who had anxiety and PTSD who felt much better after a series of acupuncture sessions. If there was a pill for helping you function a little bit better in many areas AND reduced stress most people would take it. And that’s basically what I’ve seen acupuncture do. For me, I have an old whip lash injury in my neck that acts up from time to time, and Saturday I woke up barely able to move my neck. I needled it twice that day and put hot packs on it, and the next day I could function. Then Monday night I needled it again. And today I had it cupped. The redness is a sign of how tight my muscles are and how much blood stagnation is moving on out. When I see this much I know a patient is in pain. But I’ll keep treating it every day this week and I’ll be ok. It makes me thankful to be an acupuncturist! ❤️ Acupuncturist Kat . #whyacupuncture #acupuncturerocks #acupunctureworks #acupuncturistsofinstagram #acupunctureheals #holistichealth #holistichealing #chronicillness #chronicpain #musclespasms #glensfallsny #naturalpainrelief https://www.instagram.com/p/CE8-w6mnAtc/?igshid=1qfr9jgsgabdv
