Please understand, I am an animal nerd but had only just started obsessing over thylacines when I started getting my massive burnout-related sickness. You are... such a ray of light in terms of sharing your special interest, it's teaching me things I'd heard but didn't have the data on and I LOVE it. I didn't even have a proper paws diagram available! Most of this footage I haven't seen! Thank you for being just an absolute delight in your focus and your obvious love. If you want, I'll send you some art digitally. I do a lot of physical/traditional AND digital art of thylacines, though it's not natural history illustration level quality - I don't really feel comfy getting the address of someone under 18 so I can't send you prints directly, but if you ever want 'em maybe let me know and I'll help you get your hands on them somehow! Publish or answer directly, either's fine. :)

I relate to this post on a personal level, and I am totally supportive of your choices. Gender stuff and body stuff are both complex because to some extent they’re performative, but your reasoning is sound and as long as you’re happy with it it’s a positive thing. c:

I’m home!

My datemate and I spent about a week on an island in the middle of a lake, and it was a load of fun: but by the last day we’d become expert bug assassins (the True Path to killing mosquitoes is to be both gentle and firm like the root slowly curling around a rock as you reach out and grasp them: and also to leap off your bed like a goddamn howler monkey at three in the morning because something just bit your face), and the constant presence of Nature was starting to make me unnecessarily introspective and philosophical. I was standing on piers gazing into the distance until seagulls started making threatening swoops at me. It got bad. 

I read through four books (Tiffany Aching!). Datemate once slept through the majority of one day like a content blanket burrito. We made burgers from scratch and my forty-year-old not-quite-brother (don’t ask) who was living in the other cabin drank a whole bottle of vodka and we sat with him as he giggled uncontrollably, until he agreed to go to bed. (He’s going through some stuff) We went to see some old cave paintings, completely failed to perform the usual Midsummer magicks (considering they usually concern prospective husbands, just as well) and ate enough sausage on a campfire to last me through the summer. 

It’s taken us a whole day to get back home, but now I’m going to take a shower, stare numbly at my screen and spend the next 24 hours scrolling Tumblr. Oh, cat pictures and 24987645 pictures of Gravity Falls on my dash, how I have missed thee.

On my stupid phone so i can't see the list but I think grey green teal scarlet and cinnamon were some of them ?forgive me if i got mixed up. Also for the terrible grammar. My phone updated to kitkat and it's a nightmare.

GREY = I wish you would notice me.

GREEN = I think you’re cute.

TEAL = We have a lot in common.

SCARLET = You have influenced my decision/thoughts on something.

CINNAMON = You’re a really cool person and admire you from afar.

i dunno if these were the ones you were thinking of, but they’re all super nice either way, so i’ll take it!

I love where things that could be "divine" intervention happen. One time I was walking and I froze near the corner of the sidewalk, to look at a symbol of the Summoning Dark (discworld) carved into the concrete, and a car went barreling across the pedestrian crossing at high speed.

ok but adder and i tried to come up with like. siblings for bill cipher. and it was really difficult to find things to base them off on because bill is conceptually so enormously involved in human culture so we tried like - different facets of human nature 

and then we came up with a name for one of them (representing wrath) and i can’t even say it bc we tried to make it as horribly on the nose and pun-y as bill cipher and i laugh involuntarily every time i think about it

tonight is the night adder and i scream at each other over the Tragic Life of Stanley Pines 

some highlights 

young teenage stanley who’s so bitter and angry and going I’LL SHOW YOU ALL I’LL GET RICH AND FAMOUS and maybe you’ll love me. and that never happens. 

spends thirty years working on a something way above his education and skill level while learning how to build a business from the ground up 

couldn’t ever see his parents. couldn’t go to his dad’s funeral, since i assume he died first. could MAYBE visit his mom’s funeral, heavily disguised!

forgoing living his life and maybe getting married and having children - remember that episode of stanley eyeballing the cute grandpa and his cutesy kids? YEAH. the twins are as close as he gets to grandchildren. and it appears that stanley’s actually kinda good with kids, in his own way! he avoids cursing around them, he TRIES so hard, and if he’d lived a different life he might have been a great dad! 

stanford still appears to hate him and the twins are the only family he’s left and he was actually doing pretty good job being a parent figure! he might be shady and rough as fuck, but he wasn’t putting the kids in any truly ethically and morally troubling situations, unlike stanford “mind control’s a-okay” pines. but now he’s not even a good influence anymore because whenever stanford’s around he skulks into the background bc he’s so ashamed of what he did! 

finally, adder: “He spent his whole life living a lie, throwing aside any of his own aspirations, wants, needs, scraping together every single resource he has - and one of the first things stanford says to him is that as soon as the kids go home, he has to leave too. that he's not welcome in basically the only home he's had since he was kicked out as a teen, that he's not cared for at all by the person he's been obsessively spending his whole life working to save!”
