Hack for adding links in your Tumblr description

Create a post and add links like you usually would. I suggest to make it only one line because Tumblr (currently) makes it all one line anyway in their app.

When you’re done adding links, click post settings and switch the text editor to HTML. Copy the HTML code.

Go to “Edit appearance” for your blog and click “Edit theme”

Paste the HTML code to your description. Click Save and you’re done.

I also suggest saving your description as a draft so that you still have it if anything goes wrong.

I hope this will be helpful to some of you. Alternatively, you can learn how to use HTML. That’s how I started getting interested in coding. (I don’t code anymore though.)

Adding Links and Images to Ao3

Hi there! Do you love collaborating with artists and writers in bangs only to find yourself banging your head against the wall when it comes to adding the links and images to your AO3 post and Tumblr post? Read on!

Adding LINKS to your AUTHOR NOTES!

1) check the box to add a note

2) Type in your notes!

3) use the HTML tag <a href=“http://example.tumblr.com>Example</a> 

4) change the example link to your link. The word Example now links to your URL of choice. Ta da! \o/

Adding LINKS to your WORK TEXT using RICH TEXT!

1) Make sure Rich Text is selected (upper right hand corner)

2) Click on Insert/edit link!

1) A box pops up! Add your URL (you can copy and paste or type it out)

2) Add the text to display! (title is optional)

1) Tada! The word example is now linked to your URL of choice.

2) As noted in the box, you can also highlight text you’ve already written and use the insert/edit link button to just add the URL. Either method works! 

Adding IMAGES to your WORK TEXT using RICH TEXT!

1) Make sure Rich Text is selected (upper right corner) Even if you are using the HTML editor for the majority of your editing, you can switch between the two. I HIGHLY recommend switching to Rich Text to add an image!

2) Click insert/edit image!

1) A box pops up! Insert your source URL for your image. Make sure it’s hosted appropriately!

2) The image description is option. 

3) You can alter the dimensions to the needed size if necessary. Keep Constrain proportions checked so there’s no funky alterations.

4) When you hit OK, the image will show up. At that point, you can add spaces if you need, but it’s otherwise ready to go!

Adding LINKS to your TUMBLR MASTER POST!

Chances are, someone’s gotta make a tumblr master post. It might be you! Here’s an easy way to add links to your tumblr post without having to futz around with HTML tags.

1) Write your text 

2) highlight the part that needs a link 

3) select the Link button or hit ctrl+K

4) Copy and paste or type your URL into the box that pops up.

5) Do that for every link you need and celebrate how much time you saved!

Yeah. Just find the links code and copy and paste one of them as many times as links you want to add

For example, your links may look like this:

Copy and paste one of them (3x for 3 more links)

hi, i have a question about the trash bag meme theme :3 how can i add links in the sb?

dw! it’s not a theme where you manually put the links in, so basically, if you want a link to show up in your sidebar you have to do so via the page itself! like this:

go to add page

and you should see this:

i’ve highlighted the area you need to look at now, where it says ‘show a link to this page’. once you’re done filling your page, click ‘show a link to this page’ and it will give you the option to title your link. save & update and it should now show up in your sidebar!

if you want to link to something that isn’t a page on your blog, click where it says ‘standard layout’ and pick ‘redirect’ instead :^)
