Additional Notes: Gianna Kiehl, "Theme of Laura (Repetition)," and more...

I cut this material from the Theme of Laura (Repetition) video in the spirit of trying to keep the main Staying on Theme videos under 30 minutes and focused on the music, but there were things we discussed AFTER the main music analysis that I didn't want to get lost on the cutting room floor entirely. Special thanks to ‪@cleolinda‬ for her patience as I FINALLY realized what connections she was making between "Theme of Laura (Repetition)" and "True (2024)."

Kafka in his monster form.

I based him on a jackdaw based on his name, also the second panel had flowers are Cornflowers and black dahlia. Rest of them are random flowers, originally I was gonna put poisonous flowers on him but I am still figuring out his design.

Kafka is my oc who is Karl’s twin brother, I honestly fell in love with the resident evil village concept of Karl originally having a twin brother so I was inspired to create him. (Still kinda anxious showing his lore rn.) I know I mentioned in some other post that Kafka is a clone of Karl, that was a concept I originally wroted him in. (I hope I am making things sense cause if not well I am cooked.)

In short, Kafka is made as a result of me created a what-if au of Karl having a twin brother/sibling.

Also I just thought it would be interesting and funny if Kafka controls organic/plant things instead of metal Karl manipulates over.

i like the parallels of these two scenes [SPOILERS]

This first one with Thomas is deceivingly forceful at first glance considering the rough nature of the following actions. She admits that she knows the monster that's after them was a past abusive lover, they just had an argument, objects were broken, both were screaming, he's covered in sweat because he's still sick, she has her own spit dribbling down her chin, she provokes him by saying THAT, she's gripping his hair and his shirt for dear life while he fucks her on the sofa. The way it looks as a viewer seemed to be non consensual and well.. ugly. But she refutes this quite early on; there is an underlying trust and love built upon the two characters which is already well established throughout the duration of the film. When they finished, she seems to be manic so he comforts and assures her that it's just him, that she's safe, and that he loves her; even when she tries to push him away because "shes unclean" he doesn't let go even if someone is out to get the two of them by just being together.

However this next scene with Orlok pretends to be tender and soft; the nature of this very relationship was built upon despair and his never ending appetite much to her suffering and others around it. Three nights he said, and within that given time he wreaked havoc (which he already did but even more so); he kills her friend and her friend's children just to make her see what would happen if she rejects him. She welcomed him to her home and he asks her as if she has a choice which he knows she doesn't. She "consents" in a sense that it had to be done; either she rejects him and let other people suffer, or she accepts his offer so that the plan would work and he dies while no one has to; she has no choice. They shared a kiss and then it cuts to her laying on the bed while he does all the work. It seems oh so romantic; slow and tender music in the background. Forget the fact that this will kill her.

So I’ve made a crack au

I originally had the au swapped with Shen Yuan as ladybug but then I had an epiphany about overpowered protagonists who are always congratulated by the narrative. But also I haven’t kept up with the show since like season 3.

Luo Binghe: So Binghe is ladybug now! He’s got all the traits; bullied at school, magic power ups, love interest whom his relationship with is kinda questionable. In the miraculous au, Binghe actually gets two alive parents! Maybe three for good measure (gotta include the washerwoman somehow). As a civilian, Binghe has an interest in baking and behaves like a white lotus. Ladybug Binghe is closer to Bingge but he’s still ultimately a little sheep.

Shen Yuan: Bro has much more in common with Adrien than I thought. This rich young master is isolated from his peers and doesn’t spend much time outside of modeling or reading we novels. He ends up going to school and having an umbrella moment, unwittingly creating a strong impression on a certain someone. As Cat Noir, sy gets to live out his xianxia dreams and beat up demons. He is a bit more of a troll as chat.

Shen Jiu: Og SQQ as hawkmoth is actually hilarious and perfect. Still get the angst (potential, not like mlb properly followed through on that) of having your relative being the evil bad guy. Shen Jiu owns a very successful fashion company which he inherited after the Shen parents died in a car crash. Shen meimei was left critical condition (sorry Shen meimei I had to do it for character development) and she is left in the hospital (because seriously what was up with the basement that makes no sense). This Hawkmoth’s motivation is then to help his siblings live a better life.

Ming Fan: This guy slots perfectly into the role of Chloe Bourgeois. Mean childhood bully character. He’s friends with Shen Yuan due to his family business in the textiles industry or something. Maybe he’ll get a proper redemption unlike Chloe.

Ning Yingying: She clearly gets the best friend role to Binghe. She teases him about his crush on celebrity Shen yuan.

Liu Mingyan: She gets the investigative part of Alta’s character. Though Mingyan is more included to use her blog to write rpf than journalism…

Sha Hualing: Honestly I could see her in the weather girl outfit, no idea why though. Ling-er is just here for a good time.

Shang Qinghua: Sort of Nino character who is Shen yuan’s best friend. A mix of that and that one art kid background character. SQH is living his best life helping lmy with her ladynoir fanfic (much to the mortification of Shen yuan).

Mobei-jun: Don’t really know what to do with this guy. He probably has a really cool akumatized form. Maybe the first one to get akumatized, can’t blame him he’s got uncle issues.

Liu Qingge: He’s here to do a Luka and muck up the love square. Poor guy has to deal with the idiots (bingyuan) dancing around each other. Though the love square can’t quite become an octagon, Binghe couldn’t have any other interest.

Meng Mo: He’s master fu now. It’s funny

Yue Qingyuan: either want to make him the teacher or the principal. Or he could have Natalie’s role, either way QiJiu gets to be their usual disaster.

Some additional notes about this blog!

This blog is dedicated to recipes that I have modified for my diet over the past few years. The recipes I share include my alterations and substitutions to the existing recipes I link. They’re directly from my own recipe book, so I’ve already doubled the garlic for you ;)

My version is the strictest version that I feel you can have while still being worth making. You can always sub a less restricted food item, such as vegetable oil or margarine/butter in place of refined coconut oil, regular flour in place of 1:1 oat flour, your milk of choice/cream in place of oat or coconut milk, real cheese in place of vegan, etc., so check the original recipe for other, less restrictive options.

Also, always check your labels!

Edits that still need to be made: I need to link the acid free mozzarella in some recipes that list it, link the oat milk recipe in some recipes that list it, link the 1:1 oat flour in some recipes that use it (this flour is made in a factory that processes nuts, so if you are super sensitive to nuts, I recommend finding another brand that meets your needs or making your own at home with oats and a food processor), specify refined coconut oil in recipes that use coconut oil, and add the egg free and nightshade free tags to the relevant recipes.

Useful notes for rewrites

I use a variant of Hamer 3-level notation to indicate scansion on my posts due to its ease of typing and how it resembles Slash & X notation which makes it easier to write songs with simpler scansion.
