Therefore, you are just oinking in your karmas, submitting to changes, and consoling yourself by imagining that identifying with the body-mind has something to do with religion. True religion does not have anything to do with unconsciousness. True religion has everything to do with responsibility for ego-transcendence. There is no true religion without ego- transcendence. It is not intelligent merely to submit to time, merely to submit to changes, or to submit to mere possibility and conventional hopes. A real and intelligent investigation of the things of conditional existence ought to dissuade you from such casualness. Human beings seem to be always creating a fantasy version of reality, and they seem also to be enclosing themselves in it through all kinds of social and cultural instruments, so that they do not have to come in touch with real cosmic Nature. Yet, how does cosmic Nature work? How does conditional existence work? Take a look at it. It is not leading any conditional being toward immortality or Real Happiness. Even by stealth or strategy, you cannot realize immortality or Real Happiness by manipulating conditional possibilities. All your manipulation is (ultimately) confounded by events in conditional Nature, including death.
