She hummed to herself as she made her way across the room, finding the fresh air and looking up to the sky. “It’d be nice if we could do this stuff, cross species and all, all the time you know? All the parties, the extravagant set ups. It’s a shame vampires and wolves can’t just...traditionally get along.”

Ambriella had been having a wonderful time at the ball, but then a run-in with a noble vampire and their insistence she was just a pity date was all it took to have her in tears. She hated being so emotional but it was an awful feeling, to hear what she’d feared about the evening, knowing they’d been right about her. She stood against the far wall, away from prying eyes, and away from her date, not wanting him to see her this way. But even so, someone approached and she gave a smile, trying to appear upbeat. “I’m fine,” she whispered, as though they might care she was upset.

Kylar was over this evening. He couldn’t believe he’d promised to be on his best behavior and failed already. He was serving drinks, wearing a fucking suit and stupid ass mask, and there was no escape from it. He’d seen the one person he wanted to on someone else’s arm and it only infuriated him more. Sighing dramatically, he passed by someone else to bump into him, not bothering to pay attention to their surrounding. “Excuse you,” he mumbled under his breath, continuing on and heading to grab another tray of drinks.

It was a mixture of excitement and anxiety once she arrived at where the ball was being held. It was already in full swing by the time she arrived, having doubted herself a few times on the way there. She wasn’t one to be nervous, but she also wasn’t the type to be dressed up so nicely and be around so many vampires. The smell alone was enough to make her nose wrinkle up, despite them being outside. Tracing the outline of her mask gently she moved through the gathering of people eyes darting along hoping to find some similarities when she accidentally ran into someone. “Oh god, I’m so sorry.” She stumbled out, stepping back a little so she didn’t do anything else to knock them further off balance. “Are you okay?”
