Setsuna Appreciation

A archer so absentminded even insults roll right off her. Quick on her feet, but slow on the uptake, she’ll fearlessly defend your army from foes... once she notices them.

Setsuna has excellent speed growth, and because of that will have little trouble doubling enemies.This also helps prevent her from being doubled, which is good in light of her low defense stat. Setsuna’s biggest weakness is her strength, which is little issue against fliers or other low defense classes. She has higher than average resistance, which can make her decent at facing mages despite weapon disadvantage. She performs well in her role as an archer, and benefits from early availability in Birthright. On the other hand, in Revelation she becomes available late, which can leave her outmatched by other units already in the party. Regardless, she makes a good choice as a mother for child units that make use of her speed.

Character

Setsuna was born into an easy life of a noble, a life so easy in fact, she found little joy or discontent in anything. How boring. She stopped experiencing much emotion, and stopped taking notice of much of her surroundings either.

Due to this she found herself caught in hunting trap one day, and to her surprise, she felt excitement! She unfortunately makes an accidental habit of it, but she remains as unperturbed and unflappable as ever. Luckily her kind personality has won her many allies to watch out for her, including her liege and loyal friend Princess Hinoka. If anyone gets frustrated, well, that’s ok. She’s blissfully oblivious to any insults that come her way.

You can rely on Setsuna, she’s a loyal friend and a fearless warrior. Nothing can get this girl down!

Mordecai Appreciation

“I like it not…War brings pain. Sorrow.”

A hulking Tiger hailing from Gallia, Mordecai has gentle disposition and little appetite for violence. This peace-loving laguz will stop at nothing to help a friend in need. Well... once his transformation gauge fills.

Character

In a war-torn world where racially-motivated violence is the norm, Mordecai stands apart from the crowd, forging friendships with Laguz, Beorc, and Branded alike. In both Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn, he is stationed in Crimea to improve Laguz and Beorc relations, a fitting job for a friendly cat.

Despite his intimidating size, he is gentle and kindhearted. However, few things have been shown to anger him more than racism, and he can react impulsively when faced with animosity from others. He does not have a firm grasp on the Beorc language, but by no means is he unintelligent. In his supports, his positive attitude and wisdom are of great benefit to those around him.

Once his days in Ike’s company are over, he retires to Gallia to live peacefully amongst the trees. You deserve it, big guy!

This lovable blue cat may not win a spot on your team, but he’ll definitely win a place in your heart.

Discussion for everyone! If Fire Emblem (don't care which game, but let's pretend that Awakening was rated E instead of T here in the US) had promotional tie ins with Mcdonalds with a game's release and it got its own line of Happy Meal toys, what kinds of cheap shit do you think they'd stuff in the box with your apple dippers and milk cartons? I'm personally thinking something along the lines of a light up Shield of Seals and a talking Chrom/ Lucina that have some catch phrase.

the happy meal toys usually consist of making toys based off on the ones whom are most popular among the crowd. following your example, there would be a chrom along with other toys such as lucina/masked marth, gaius, cordelia, tharja (though she won’t even exist as a character, if fe13 were to be e-rated), and many others who are popular. this will apply to all the other fe games. aside from characters, they would also have important items each respective to their games.

Lucina’s tiara or riot! I’d bet on the Shield of Seals, no doubt. It would be a light up keychain. In the case of figurines, I’d say we’d be able to expect “default” male Robin, and if they are feeling generous maybe a female Robin too. They’d be limited to three colors so it would look pretty weird. Chrom would be one of those figurines that just lifts its arms when you push a button on his back, and Tiki in dragon form would be one of those cars you could drag back on wheels and let go and she’d flap her wings.

I just wanna say that I'm so happy that this blog exists bc I started out with Awakening, like a lot of people my age, and I just bought all of the GameBoy Advance games because I'm so invested in this fandom now 😂 Basically I'm glad there are people who are trying to unify the fandom instead of shut out the newer people because the older games are just as good! Plus I know I'd have been in this fandom a lot longer had I been born ten years earlier haha

Thank you for such a lovely message! It is very exciting that you have decided to pick up some of the other titles in the series. I hope you enjoy them. I think you make a good point about accessibility of FE, it’s a series that has been around a while! Gatekeeping has no place in a fandom, and it’s nonsense to judge a fan based on what games they’ve played.

If your only game is Awakening, you’re a fan. If the reason you’re here is Super Smash Bros, you’re a fan. If your first game is Heroes, welcome aboard (you’re a fan too)! If you like Fire Emblem you’re part of the fandom, simple as that. There is no way or need to quantify a fan.

You guys know where I can get an affordable glass case? I'm seriously considering starting a hard copy Fire Emblem collection, and i want to be able to display anything and everything I can find without taking up a ton of space in a corner of my room.

eBay may be a great place to try. If you need something specific, then maybe the best place is a craft store so you can get pieces to put together yourself.

We talked it over, and none of the mods actually know much more… so outside suggestions would be appreciated! Where do you guys find display cases?
