#Word Vomit Wednesdays 13 ADMIRABLE QUALITIES
Hi, you’ve reached the dark weird section of the internet, the following content will undoubtedly make you cringe and possible barf, after all, its a WORD VOMIT WEDNESDAY!!! YAY.
This weeks topic: QUALITIES YOU FIND ADMIRABLE IN OTHER PEOPLE AND WHY?
Well. hmm. I’m going to go ahead and talk about people I know and not mention names. That sounds like fun right?
So the first person, is a guy I’ve known for the longest time. I’ve always admired their tenacity and work ethic. It is irrelevant of the job they are doing, irrelevant if people are watching, easy or difficult. They are always giving their best. I never really thought about it too much but hopefully that quality permeated into me from knowing them. To this day, I’m not sure why they do it. I’m not sure if they feel it’s biblical to place 100% effort, or they are OCD or if they don’t even realise it. I don’t need to know why. I just know that I admire it.
Next up, this person holds a quality I would say I really struggle with. It’s called compassion. So when I was younger and foolish, it felt easy. Compassion seems almost natural, and I think that’s because I was on the receiving end of compassion because I was a kid. Lord knows I needed compassion.
He who has been forgiven much, loves much.
But, as I get older, its definitely been more of a struggle because compassion means being a lot more patient, forgiving, understanding, empathetic, and generally accepting of .... difficultness. That’s why I really respect this person, because despite working from the bottom up, he has immense compassion for people who have had more opportunities than himself. It’s almost self sacrificing... He doesn’t care so much if they deserve it, he cares whether or not they need it.
The last quality comes from a friend who took a long time to get to know. I remember this one time, we were eating dinner with some family friends and he was offered a beer from my uncles. He very courteously refused, but they kept badgering him. In fact, they took a stab at his manhood and pride. Still, with a calm demeanor, he flatly refused. I never asked him why he was so adamant about it because well, it seemed like a fairly normal request to drink beer with friends and family. It was only a year later I realized his father had had an alcohol problem. My friend never wanted to take that risk. The quality I admire here, is self control. I know I would have caved to peer pressure. I know it takes a stronger man forgo pride for something greater.
If you haven’t already realised. All three qualities come from the same man,
my father.
And I guess the darndest shame is that I won’t often tell him that I admire him.
I’m working on that...

I hope you enjoyed this WVW, and maybe tell the people you admire that you admire them, it can’t go wrong, surely... Until next week, BYE!
