tanaka is someone to be wary of.
people steer clear out his way when he saunters around like he owns the place no matter where he is. lowly whispering amongst themselves when they see the tattoos sprawling out from underneath his heavy dark clothing and the glint of the silver piercing in his eyebrow. the loud thumping of his combat boots against the ground as well as the clanking of the heavy silver chains around his neck draws attention to him.
some sneak glances at tanaka out of the corner of their eyes, ensuring they’re quick enough that they won’t catch the male’s attention, aware of what might happen if they do.
tanaka’s reputation for picking fights is notorious. rumors of how all it takes is one wrong look or off-handed comment to lead to a heated confrontation with the man, one that he’s apparently never lost. some scoff and roll their eyes when they hear this and dare to test their luck, cockily approaching tanaka and challenging him to fight them right then and there. they’re greeted with a dangerous grin that reveals sharp pointed teeth, and hesitation creeps up their spine as they begin to feel more like the prey rather than the predator. they steel their nerves and bring their fists up close to their face, readying themselves for a fight that they’re confident they’ll win.
tanaka brushes the dirt off of his dirtied jeans and wipes the blood from his bottom lip, widely grinning as he walks away and ignores the pained groans of his defeated opponent on the ground.
tanaka is someone to avoid, which is why people are shocked when they see you, of all people, happily clinging to his arm one day. you’re nearly the complete opposite of tanaka - sweet and soft and kind to a fault.
they openly ogle you two, a mismatched pairing, before averting their gaze when tanaka looks their way.
to their eyes, you and tanaka make no sense together, but you believe otherwise. tanaka can be as sweet and soft and kind as others believe you to be. it’s in the way he tightens his arm around your shoulders, shielding you from the prying gazes of others. it’s in the way he drapes his leather jacket over you without asking beforehand and presses a kiss against your lips, murmuring that he can’t have you getting sick now, can he?
it’s in all of his actions and words that make you feel more loved than you’ve ever been before.
you love tanaka for who he is, not what others believe him to be.
