Things I did in 2018
- Cut my hair off (technically it was December 26, 2017...but it’s close enough)
- Started playing rugby
- Ended a relationship
- Kissed a girl for the first time (absolutely no correlation to the above point lol)
- Got my passport
- Got a full ride scholarship for college through the Air Force
- Became a contracted cadet in ROTC
- Went to Ireland
- Got my third tattoo
- Went to my first pride event
- Came out to my parents
- Took a girl as my date to a formal military event
- Went to women’s D1 college rugby nationals
- Went to my first stagecoach
- Went to Disneyland for the first time as an “adult”
- Had a crazy summer romance
- Realized I catch feelings faster than most people catch a cold
- Went to my best friends graduation
- Went kayaking with my best friend
- Came out...to more people
- Got to fly in a C-130J
- Flew a plane
- Had my heartbroken
- Went to LEGOland for the first time as an “adult”
- Went to Hawaii
- Turned 19 years old
- Moved into my first apartment
- Became friends with an ex for the first time
- Found my hockey fam (even though I don’t play hockey)
- Went to gay tacos for the first time
- Started Arnold Air Society candidacy
- Voted for the first time
- Went to another country music festival
- Had my car break down in the middle of the desert
- Presented the United Stated flag at a college football game
- Ran my fastest mile and a half ever (10:36)
- Became an Arnold air society active
- Sent probably one too many drunk texts (you know who you are)
- Wore what I wanted to wear to a formal event for the first time
- Survived yet another finals week
- And spent the last two weeks of the year relaxing on winter break. Spending time with family, drinking way too much coffee, playing a lot of board/card games, and staying up and sleeping in way too late.
But most importantly I:
- Found confidence I didn’t know I could have in more ways than I even knew existed
- And found friendships that will last a lifetime
2018 might have just ended but there is plenty more to come.
My plans for 2019 already include:
- A trip to the Bahamas
- My sisters high school graduation
- Field training
- Learning a new language (Indonesian)
- Stagecoach round 2
- Possibly road trip round 2
- And more
It’s already sounding pretty great. 2018 was full of memorable moments and new experiences. I’m so excited for what 2019 has in store and I’m ready to have more fun, experience and learn more than I did in 2018.
