After Nightmare💀
Lodger is a depressed, let-down character. after a big civil war in his country, He lost everything and now he works at a library. But suddenly he finds a little hope in his nightmares...
Day 1 [night time]
I could hear the sound of soft wind under the cloudy afternoon sky. It seemed like another normal day. I was reading a book while lying down on my old sofa. A book regarding people who hurt each other without reason and cried victim afterwards.
I I never understood humans, all I've ever heard was people saying they are smart and wonderful. So why won't they help us? Why don't they at least show mercy to the characters they create instead of hurting us?
There’s many more questions I have to ask, many truths that I want to find out. I am a researcher after all.
Well, it was like that until "that" day, the day I found about a young human girl. She’s a trouble maker, but just for us, she doesn't hurt any people.
I don't quite remember how or when, but I fell asleep while thinking about these subjects… I just closed my eyes for a second and then, my house was covered in darkness. I even couldn't see a step forward. The darkness was accompanied with heavy silence… I even couldn't hear the sound of the clock on my wall..
Suddenly... "Knock KNOCK!", Someone knocked my door. This was AWFUL! I never liked unwanted visitors; I had many things that I didn't want anyone to see. I mean—My house was messy. I got up with a big yawn and grabbed a candle and lit I up, and slowly crawled on the main door.
“who’s there? “
I said, with a grumpy sound.
“P-Please... let me in... “
Said a fearful sound from behind the door. He was breathing fast, as if he had ran all the way to my house.
“And why should I let you in? I even don’t know you! “
“Please, I beg you! I have a kid… she’s dying! “
He was crying but not like a human. believe me, his sound as raspy. So I thought he’s safe, since he was obviously a character and not human. I opened the main door and when they entered to my house, I closed it quickly.
I could see them easily under the candle light. He was young man but had short white hair. With a fearful face and small eyes, that were looking me up. He was wearing black and white pajamas and was taller than me. And his hand, covered by the blood of the little girl in his arms.
“Humans are very wild these days. Come with me! She’ll be ok.“I said. With the candlestick in my hand, stepping firmly towards the inside of the house.
“T-Thank you! Your so kind! “The young man answered me softly.
“No I’m not. “I said. And with little help of candle’s low light, found the light switch and turned it on. And in a moment’s notice, my house was covered in light.
“As i was saying, not kind, just trying to stand up against the cruelty of humans. “
“I see… “
“So, what happened to that poor girl? “I asked. I got the little girl from the tall man and put her on my sofa.
“I don’t know… I just found her. my own daughter died a few years ago… “He answered me with tears.
I quickly found some bandages to stop her bleeding. For a brief second, I took a look at the girl, she was not like the tall man in the slightest; she has short gray hair and a tiny but strong looking body, Which probably was the only reason that she had stayed alive until now. She wore a white T-shirt and nasty, torem blue pants. I patched her wounds with a bandage, and tightened it to stop the bleeding.
“Thank you for letting us to stay here!” The white man said, with a warm smile.
“WHAT?! I never said that! “I shouted.
“Please! Just one night! Have you seen how it's like outside? It’s dangerous for me and the little girl both… “He begged me.
I didn’t have much feelings –this was a fact that everyone told to me-But I don’t like someone begging me, I wasn’t a bad character.
“ok. You can stay. Just stop looking at me like that!” I grumbled.
His name was Thomas. We'd never met before. I told him my name too, and showed him around the house.
“Ow..! This house really messy… “
“I told you. “
“It seems you don’t have many visitor… but it’s not fair for you to be all alone… “He pouted with a goddamned sad face AGAIN.
“I don’t care. You shouldn’t either.”
“Got it…”
After dinner, we were getting ready for sleep. I had many rooms in my house so we didn't have any trouble finding a bed for them. The little girl was still sleeping, we layed her down on a bed together, but she wasn't moving even a tiny bit...
I said a cold [ Good Night ] to them and then left the room.
I knew this wasn't real. I knew it was just a nightmare. There was no Thomas, there was no little girl. But for the time being, it doesn't hurt to play along. I wasn't even a bit sad or scared. Maybe the humans really were gone for good.
to be continued...
