“Thanks! I was up past midnight reading and re-reading @railtracer30 ‘s fanfic sequel to THE DEMON QUEEN and crying because I’ve been grieving my characters for all of Q4 2025 and suddenly they’re back again!”

That is all true, but aside from the ugly crying I am incredibly humbled and honored for someone to extend their talents to keep a little world I fell into and became obsessed with alive in such a thoughtful and caring way. Especially with how weird and lonely it is writing a long fic and having to say goodbye.

Zelda being very Zelda! Lena being the most Lena! The ghosts of men! The exploits of kids! My heart is full.

Zelda is still a breadth away from panicking, Lena is such a wanting expectant.

Lena sighs, “I find dogma such a harsh critic of the mind. The soul. Therefore, I have chosen to listen to instinct against prophecy. And my instinct tells me your son, is going to be just fine.”

Every time I read a Torrey Peters story, no matter how little the characters or circumstances resemble me or my life, I feel so exposed and raw and confused and like someone opened a door that I thought was barred, padlocked and had multiple filing cabinets, two shelving units, afolding chair, a bed, a porcelain statue, a vending machine, and a potted fern stacked in front of it.

Like, that's not a bad thing. Not per se. Sometimes being seen is uncomfortable. Sometimes being seen is an ordeal. And that's OK.

She's a hell of a writer.

If this is to become a nightly occurrence I… don’t know what I’m going to do. I mean it USED to be a nightly occurrence but I’ve grown accustomed to getting actual sleep. And feeling unhappy but also unafraid. It’s not even the right time of the month for this… It’s like the one week where I’m actually meant to feel good. So what’s up. I would like to know.
