young, immature people going: "i'm only 18, it's too late to start.", "you're THIRTY??? you're fucking old!"
normal people go: "30? oh, you're SO young.", "i'm only 52."
upd: "I was quite young then, i was 24." from the same 52 year old guy. say it, dude.
You mean to tell me that this body of mine will start to get saggier, wrinklier, reflect all the good & bad experiences of my life and all the wonderful food I’ve eaten, all the trips, slips and knee grazes, the sun and the rain on my face, the ridiculous things I’ve done to my hair, the hands I’ve held, the perfumes I’ve smelled, the love I’ve felt, the days spent in bed and the others used to climb mountains, those shoes that didn’t fit and my favourite jeans, that one time I got bit by my mothers dog: and all the while I’m getting sexier and more experienced?? Hell fucking yeah.
"The compensation of growing old, Peter Walsh thought, coming out of Regent's Park, and holding his hat in hand, was simply this; that passions remain as strong as ever, but one has gained – at last! – the power which adds the supreme flavour to existence, – the power of taking hold of experience, of turning it round, slowly, in the light."
Virginia Woolf, Mrs Dalloway, 1925
As much I don't want Lynn C. to say anything about S11, she still has right to speak up her mind about TWD. I just hope she is gonna choose better words in future, I will never forgive what she said on International Women's Day but I don't want to see her as bad person forever either.
I agree. Not trying to demonize her. Just not a fan of her or anyone perpetuating an extremely problematic viewpoint about which women qualify as love interests and which don't.
I want to tell you about the sunflower I found on the sidewalk yesterday. It is wilting and curled and gorgeous and knows it. I want to age like that, never forgetting my own beauty, never forgetting how to say bloom.
