so i'm rewatching Captain Marvel
and i realised there's one thing that doesn't line up. Captain Marvel's set in the 90s right... so wayyyy before the first iron man (well not that long before but still. Anyway, in Captain Marvel, fury uses the S.H.E.I.L.D. acronym (like, he says shield. He uses the word shield.) ANYWAY in iron man there was that whole thing remember? that comedic thing? with culson and other S.H.E.I.L.D. agents saying the whole thing (Supreme Headquarters, International Espionage and Law-Enforcement Division) and everyone saying "man we gotta find a better way of saying that" and then right at the end culson's talking to Pepper and he says, kinda dramatically, "you can call us shield." BUT ANYWAY THE POINT IS WHY IS FURY AND OTHER PEOPLE USING SHEILD WHY ARE THEY SAYING SHIELD WHEN A P P A R E N T L Y THEY DIDN'T HAVE IT YET???? WAS SHIELD JUST TROLLING PEOPLE THE ENTIRETY OF IRON MAN??
