Spent the past few days working on this—behold, the Bordergrams cast! …all of them! Yeah, this book has a really tiny cast :P
Artist commentary under the cut—and this time, it’s spoiler-free!
Agent B: This book gives no descriptions of its cast, so I basically had to make everything up myself—and, well, what was I gonna do, not take the opportunity to give B red hair? I searched up “spy costume” on Google and gave B what I thought the coolest one was. The orange, however, was entirely my addition—I think it’s fitting, since the cover of the book is orange ^^ The glowing thing he’s holding is the Spark—a remote bomb detonator—and the singular glove is the oft-mentioned flamethrower glove. Or maybe it just looks cool, who knows :P If he looks a little bit manic, good. ‘Twas the idea XD
Ty: Not much to say here—the book says he wears purple and has peace tattoos, so I drew that. The freckles, I did because they looked cute, and I just figured he’d wear sandals. Or at least open-toed shoes in general XD I also decided to redo his hair a little, hence the braided bob…which I am NEVER doing again, because holy SHIT, drawing all those braids took forever. Hey, it came out nicely, I think XD
Ripley: Funnily enough, both Lunar and I imagined her with an undercut XD Her outfit might be a bit too casual for a spy, but hey, she’s got the boots, and the fingerless gloves, and the belt :P Much like how B has the Spark, Ripley has the Spectra-Stunner. It seemed fitting, for…reasons. Also decided to give her a communicator, her being B’s Mission Control and all.
Lee: The book seems to imply he’s the closest to a “traditional” spy in the Division (just a bit more manic, but then again everyone in the Division is), so I went with that. Classic attire: tuxedo, gloves, the works. The sunglasses made him look intimidating, so those were a must, and he carries the very effective spy gadget of “gun”. I dunno, that pose just seemed to suit him (even if I don’t entirely like how the hand with the gun came out—in my defense, I’ve never drawn them before ^^;)
The Director: Given that the Director probably isn’t going to be going on any missions, I figured his outfit would prioritize intimidation (and protection in the event of an assassination attempt) over practicality. Hence, this! It should never be worn in the field, but it doesn’t need to be. It just needs to be threatening. I kinda gave the cape a subtle butterfly wing motif, for…reasons I can’t actually explain because spoilers ^^; The helmet wasn’t originally supposed to have horns, but it looked a bit bland without them—it does, of course, cover the man’s entire face, so you can’t see the person beneath. (He also wears gloves, but his hands are behind his back. So he is COMPLETELY covered up.) Further info…is, unfortunately, classified. Complete Bordergrams, and access will be granted 😉
And back on the pride HC grind! ^^ I’ve mentioned this before a couple times, but hey, why not mention it again: B is demisexual! Hence why throughout his life he’s only had feelings for two people :P The questioning flag is there, not just because he doesn’t realize he’s demi (growing up with your only sexuality education being how to weaponize it against your enemies will do that to you), but also because his gender is…well, I’m not actually sure what I HC him as, and gender was also not on the Division’s list of education priorities. So, uh, B’s gender identity in my take is summed up as “I don’t know, and I don’t think he does either” ^^;
And here’s Ripley and Ty! Ty being pan just felt right, he’s the kind of guy to be more into someone for their soul than their appearance; him being trans was just something fun I figured I’d throw in there ^^ Ripley being bi…frankly, I just looked at the design I gave her and realized there was no way she was completely straight XD It’s the vibe, what can I say.
Been on a pretty big Pokémon kick lately (what can I say, I’m Lily the Litten) and Nori’s post about Logico and Irratino’s possible Poké-teams made me think…so have what teams I’d give them and the Bordergrams crew! Not everyone’s got a full team of six, but eh :P

Logico
Minccino (Normal-type cute chinchilla who also kicks a surprising amount of ass. This one actually originated from the ideas I had for my Pokémon Murdle AU a while back, where Minccino had been Logico’s starter and they didn’t get along very well on account of Logico giving up on the gym challenge ^^;)
Gumshoos (Taken from Nori’s Pokémurdle. Because come on. Literal detective-themed Pokémon. What was I gonna do, not give it to Logico :P)
Hatenna (A later addition to his party in my AU; given Hatenna can’t handle strong emotions, she’s perfect for this emotionally stunted disaster :P Might wanna keep her away from Tino, though. Especially after she evolves.)
Meowstic (Specifically the female one. Cute cat + Psychic Pokémon = Tino’s thing ^^)
Armarouge (Because Charcadet is cool, and no one can stop me :P)
Lucario (Picked up because Tino realized otherwise his whole team could get flushed by a single Zoroark. He evolved it from a Riolu ^^)
Alolan Ninetales (The other “keep the party from getting wiped by one Dark-type” Pokémon. Bane of pseudolegendaries everywhere :P)
Gardevoir (The ace of his team! He can mega-evolve it ^^ Also stolen from Nori, admittedly :P)
Agent B
Sobble (It evolves into a secret agent and it’s very, very sad—seems pretty B-coded :P)
Snom (Is cute :> That’s probably the primary reason he caught it in-universe, really.)
Blipbug (…I think B’s just collecting bugs XD It’s fitting. I HC him as liking insects. Why not have him collect Bug-type Pokémon?)
Absol (Not a Bug-type, but. Foreshadowing.)
Galarian Yamask (A creature carrying something that slowly absorbs the essence of what it is. How fitting :P I’ve also noticed the whole team is Galarian. Which also sorta fits, because B sorta sounds British in my head for some reason—even though Bordergrams doesn’t take place anywhere near England and I hear no one else as sounding like that XD)
Ripley
Gorebyss (Beautiful on the outside, absolutely vicious on the inside. How fitting :P)
Crobat (The obligatory Crobat that every major villain has to signify their inner humanity ^^ Except Ghetsis. Fuck Ghetsis.)
Dragalge (She’d think it was cool, what else can I say XD Also has a Poison typing to handle all those Fairies :P)
Applin (A gift from B ^^ Look it up on Bulbapedia if you don’t get the refrance.)
Zorua (What would a spy be without some method of disguise? :P)
Salazzle (Ripley’s ace—a dangerous female mon that dominates the lesser males. Again…how fitting :P)
Ty
Audino (If Ty himself was a Pokémon, he’d be an Audino. ‘Nuff said :P)
Alomomola (It saves drowning people. Of course it fits ^^)
Comfey (Yet another healer type. Ty probably picks mons that help people ^^)
Togekiss (The one attacker on his team, for when he has absolutely no choice but to fight. Still a fitting mon—it appears in peaceful times ^^)
