so for this week's theme i decided to go with something that happens over time - the patina on bronze statues. the base colour was essie sable collar, which i then layered over with essie vested interest. to get the patina effect, i scrunched up some glad wrap [cling film] and lightly touched it on to the layer of vested interest while it was still wet, which then pulled off the polish to reveal the colour underneath.

once that was dry i dry-brushed a very light layer of a-england galahad on top to brighten the green a bit, and added two coats of opi top coat to smooth it out. this one was kind of difficult to capture with my camera, it looks a lot more striking in rl.

on a side note, my nails are looking super sad at the moment because i had three breaks along the quick in the last week so i've had to cut them right down. i'm blaming the revitanail sensitive i've been using for making them so brittle, does anyone have any good recs for nail strengtheners? been considering opi nail envy but i'm not sure that won't make them worse.
