So I already headcanon that Tara isn't allowed to cook (because she's really bad at it. Like. Really bad at it. Like good god is that even edible bad at it).

But there's actually another part of the headcanon I haven't talked about, which is that Tara literally cannot cook. The act of cooking, hell even just being in a kitchen, does nothing but remind her of being attacked.

OH MY GOD i just spent like 30+ minutes making a rec list and was ALMOST done when I closed the tumblr window!!! WAHHHHHHHH

this is gonna be a much shorter rec bc I gotta close tumblr and write! SO: 

I’m just gonna tag people and link their AO3 profiles, possibly mention a couple favorite fics I’ve read. Every one of these authors does an amazing job of drawing you into the worlds they’re writing about, and in my opinion (and sometimes experience) you don’t actually need to know anything about the fandom to enjoy their works. You’re just gonna find excellent characterization and a lot of emotional depth, even when the tags may seem like pure pwp. 

@chainofclovers/AO3 (The Rose Room-- a Grace and Frankie fic --is a super fave, but EVERYTHING by this author is STUNNING. She also writes Killing Eve and Devil Wears Prada among other things). 

@newleafover/AO3 (Harriet and Louise is a recent regency AU by this author whose voice and style are phenomenal, but also check out their fem!Napollya (Man From Uncle) fic too. Truly such a gift to any fandom they write in!) 

@silverfoxlouis/AO3 (I am not sure how much femslash they’ve written, but their fic “love somebody today” was SO GOOD that i still think about it in spite of knowing absolutely nothing about The Adventure Zone, the fandom it’s written for. Butch Magnus/Femme Taako is the pairing and. Yeah. LOVE.) 

@alienfuckeronmain/AO3 (Daisy Chains series is what inspired me to start writing girl direction, so I always rec that highly, but her lesbian Cars fic is so good that it got me to care about HUMANIZED CARS from a movie series I have never seen. She’s also written in TONS of fandoms, so there’s a lot for you to find there. And while she’s currently writing m/m Hobbit fic I feel like there’s always the chance that she’ll flip them to f/f eventually and it will be mindblowing.) 

@disgruntledkittenface/AO3 (Bambi Legs, Wild and Wired, and I Must Admit I Thought I’d Like to Make You Mine are some super faves. She writes 1d fic but again, really strong characterization that makes it easy to forget you’re not simply reading about OCs)

@gaycousinlarry/AO3 (A recent fave is Still Feel The Same Around You, but I adore her style and every fic she writes is excellent.) 

I’m leaving SO MANY good people/fics off this list, I know it :( but I really gotta wind this up. Hopefully you’ll find something/someone you adore here! And if you need or want further recs I’ve got you!
