Nan from American Horror Story canonically has Down Syndrome!
requested by: @multifandom-dynasti !
Yk when I first watched coven... I did not think I would like it.... but it's literally my favourite. I cried so much.
[Joan’s house and yard is on fire.]
Joan: What is this? Who did this?
Cordelia: You cannot cut someone's lawn with matches, Nan!
Nan: Look, I know that. You gotta have gasoline, otherwise how’s it gonna spread to the street?
Joan: [banging on the Coven’s door] Open this damn door now!
Nan: Oh, is she mad? Don’t open it.
Joan: I heard that! Open this door!
[Cordelia opens the door]
Nan: Hey Joan, how’s that yard looking? Pretty good, I bet, huh?
Joan: Oh, it’s done. So is the vinyl siding on my house.
What would be Madisons, Zoes, Queenies and Cordelias music taste?
Madison: Isn’t a huge music person. She mostly listens to radio pop and rap and a few alternative artists. Will deny until the day she dies (...again?) that she likes Taylor Swift, because she considers that too basic for even her. Also secretly loves Cher, hence her desire to do a cover album. Hates musicals. Does not actually hate Fleetwood Mac.
Zoe: Probably loves K-Pop, but also a lot of alternative/folk artists. I could totally see her knowing how to play the guitar so she can strum along to her favorites. Kyle also got her more into classic rock and dubstep, and she admits that she does really like some oldies now that Misty and Cordelia have introduced her to them.
Queenie: Likes a lot of contemporary hip hop, rap, and R&B. Since moving to New Orleans, she’s also made an effort to broaden her tastes, especially listening to older jazz and blues and other genres that were heavily influenced by Black culture. Was a fan of Lizzo before she became really popular and could literally write an essay on how much she loves Donald Glover (Childish Gambino)—his music, his comedy, and his social commentary. She also loves Miley Cyrus tho, it’s her guilty pleasure.
Cordelia: Listens to a lot of classical music and in general prefers instrumentals so she can play them in the background while doing paperwork or doing things around the greenhouse. Also likes a lot of 70s and 80s music that she listened to growing up. After Myrtle died, she even found herself looking up theremin music and finding that not all of it is as weird and sci-fi-sounding as when Myrtle played it. She also now likes a lot of really random songs from different genres that she’s heard her girls play.
Bonus: Nan likes death metal.

As Cordelia and Mallory were talking, they walked around the corner, and the lights started to flicker. The front door of the academy opened. Smoke flooded into the building and in walk Nan.
"Hi, bitches." Nan grinned.
"N-Nan?" Cordelia asked, brows furrowed. She stepped closer to her former student and gave her a small hug.
Another soul started to walk forward. Curly hair a little wilder than usual, covering her face until she looked up at her crush and old teacher.
Cordelia's eyes glanced upward, instantly filling with tears as her arms dropped from Nan's body. "Misty...?" she whispered before hugging her tightly.
Misty buried her head in the crook of Cordelia's neck. She inhaled deeply, taking in that sweet, floral scent she longed for.
"Oh, my... oh, my... how can this be?" the Supreme asked as her hands gripped Misty's shawl. "How can this be possible?" she asked before repeating herself. "How is this possible?" her heart was pounding hard against her chest.
"Oh, Miss Cordelia," Misty said in a shaky voice as she stilled gripped on tight to Cordelia's waist. "I never thought I'd escape my personal hell. And then, this one, she showed up – with the voodoo demon." She said before looking at Nan and chuckled as she pulled away. "He took my hand and guided me home."
Imagine...
Nan hearing that you’re sad and baking your favorite sweet treat to cheer you up.
“Nan, you made this? It’s delicious!”
“Your thoughts were loud, y/n. I wanted to cheer you up.”

Request Submitted by: ______ (Anonymous)
• Cordelia would be from District 4.
• Fiona would be her mentor.
• Misty would be from District 10.
• Zoe would be from District 5.
• Madison would be from District 3.
• Coco would be from District 1.
• Mallory would be from District 12.
• She would have volunteered to take the place of a child.
• Queenie would be from District 11.
• Nan would be from District 8.
• Cordelia would be good with most weapons.
• Misty would be good with a bow.
• Madison would have throwing knives.
• Mallory wouldn’t really want to hurt anyone. She’d have a lot of knowledge of the wilderness though.
• Zoe would have a spear.
• Coco would carry a sword, but wouldn’t be that good with it.
• Queenie would have an axe.
• Nan would have a blowgun.
• Cordelia and Misty would run from the Cornucopia and form an alliance.
• They’d end up being the forbidden romance that everyone is rooting for.
• Mallory would feel bad for Coco, who nearly gets killed, like, three times, and would form an alliance with her.
• Zoe and Madison would be a pretty terrifying duo.
• As would Nan and Queenie.
• Eventually, all of the small alliances would come together to form a large one.
• At some point, everyone would be dead but them.
• They wouldn’t want to kill each other (except for maybe Madison. But they’d convince her otherwise) so they’d come up with a plan.
• They’d all pull one giant trick like Katniss and Peeta.
• They’d all threaten to kill themselves with poisonous berries until the Capitol agreed to let them all live.
(Thanks for reading! If you have any requests, I’d love to hear them.)
Interactions we should have seen on AHS:
Misty Day and Kyle Spencer: after Kyle’s head was all fixed up they would have been such bros and super protective of each other nothing can convince me otherwise. They even look like they could be brother and sister.
Moira and Violet: Moira would have been around all day when Violet was skipping school and hiding in her room, I could totally see Moira just casually leaving a sandwich outside her door at lunch time without a word.
Oliver Thredson and Dr. Arden: they’re both very sadistic with a sense of clinical curiosity, and if they’d actually discovered what the other was doing it could have been very interesting.
Sister Jude and (innocent) Sister Mary Eunice: Mary seems to be Jude’s one soft spot, given how she refuses to cane her and had apparently defended Mary’s intelligence more than once in the past, and Mary definitely has Jude up on a pedestal; their relationship is almost mother-daughter like.
Nan and Cordelia: I really love in the episode with the Axeman how Nan just patiently lets Delia touch her face and figure out who she is, and I wish we’d seen what their relationship was like, because the rest of the students all treat Delia pretty awfully.
Billie Dean and Nora: Billie totally would have taken it as a challenge to make contact with the most reclusive of the house’s ghosts, and Nora may have actually been willing to talk to her given that they’re both socialites.
Misty and Myrtle: there’s a lot of missing time between Misty finding Myrtle after she was burned and when they escape the swamp. I think about Myrtle’s line about Misty being “a sophisticated witch with extraordinary gifts, hiding out as a hippie swamp rat” and wonder what Misty might have talked to her about while she was healing in the ground.
Shelby and Audrey: as constantly seems to be the case with Lily and Sarah’s characters, these two revolve around each other without having many significant interactions, and it’s all the weirder considering Audrey actually played Shelby on screen that they wouldn’t have any curiosity about each other. Honestly, all the actors and their counterparts deserved more actual time to interact with each other, but all the horror and killing stuff kicked off too fast to really see it happen.
